MLB Betting Analysis June 10 – June 16

Milwaukee Brewers at Houston Astros
When: Wednesday, June 12 at 8:10pm ET
Where: Minute Maid Park, Houston, TX
TV: ESPN

Betting Analysis: The Brewers battle the Astros on Wednesday in an interleague matchup between one of the best teams in the National League and one of the best squads in the American League. Milwaukee has scheduled Freddy Peralta as their starter on June 12.

Peralta has a 5-11 ERA, a 1-2 record, and a 1.45 WHIP. Peralta might be turning his form around, though. On June 6, he threw 6 innings and gave up 1 earned run off 4 hits. He struck out 9 in a 5-1 Milwaukee victory over the Miami Marlins.

Houston plans on starting ace Justin Verlander on Wednesday. Verlander is having another Cy Young season. His ERA is 2.31, his record is 9-2, and his WHIP is .74. As great as Verlander has thrown, though, the Brewers hit .308 against him. Milwaukee could take this game on June 12.

Pick: Milwaukee Brewers

Arizona Diamondbacks at Washington Nationals
When: Saturday, June 15 at 4:05pm ET
Where: Nationals Park, Washington D.C.
TV: FS1

Betting Analysis: Arizona heads to Washington on Saturday to battle the Nationals. The Diamondbacks plan to start Taylor Clarke. Clarke hasn’t thrown badly even though he’s got a 4.43 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP. In his last start, the D’Backs lost 0-9 to the L.A. Dodgers, but Clark only allowed 2 earned runs off 4 hits in 5 innings pitched.

The Nationals send top pitcher Stephen Strasburg to the mound on Saturday to counter Clarke. Strasburg is 6-3 with a 3.54 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP. He also holds the Diamondbacks to a .186 batting average. Washington will be favored by too much on the moneyline. Backing the Nationals on the run line seems like the best wager to make.

Pick: Washington Nationals run line

Chicago Cubs at L.A. Dodgers
When: Sunday, June 16 at 7:15pm ET
Where: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, CA
TV: ESPN

Betting Analysis: Although the Cubs are tied in first place in the NL Central Division. This might be another run line play. Hyun Jin-Ryu has a 1.35 ERA, a 9-1 record, and a .78 WHIP. Ryu has pitched sensationally this season. Ryu’s home ERA is 1.01.

The Cubs will try and counter Ryu’s awesomeness with Jose Quintana. Quintana has a decent 3.77 ERA. His WHIP is 1.27. Quintana doesn’t throw that well against the Dodgers, though. LAD bats .292 against Quintana.

Also, the Cubs are 1-5 straight up in Quintana’s last 6 starts. The Dodgers should win this game by at least 2 runs.

Pick: L.A. Dodgers run line
