MLB Expert Picks July 2 – 8

Don’t sleep on baseball this week. I have a trio of MLB expert betting picks for the week of July 2nd to the 8th that can boost you summertime betting bankroll.

MLB Expert Picks July 2nd – 8th

Baltimore at Philadelphia
When:  Wednesday, July 4 at 4:00 pm ET
Where: Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, PA

Analysis: On July 4, ESPN showcases 3 straight MLB games. The first has Baltimore battling Philadelphia in what should be a decent matchup. Philly starts Aaron Nola who has a 2.48 ERA, and a 1.01 WHIP.

Nola’s been the Phillies’ aces this season. He should dominate a Baltimore squad that’s truly fallen on hard times. It’s gotten so bad for the O’s that they’re starting reliever David Hess. Even when Hess has thrown well, Baltimore hasn’t responded.

The Orioles are 1 and 7 in Hess’s last 8 starts. The Phillies should rock Baltimore with at least a 3 run win on July 4.

Pick: Philadelphia

Boston Red Sox at Kansas City Royals
When:  Saturday, July 7 at 7:15 pm ET
Where: Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, MO

Analysis: Boston might believe they get a reprieve this weekend after having to battle the rival New York Yankees to close out June. Boston listed starter David Price has become a winning machine again.
The Red Sox are 8 and 2 in Price’s last 10 starts. That’s not counting Price’s July 1 start versus the Yankees. KC starter Brad Keller was unreal in his last start. He held the L.A. Angels to 0 earned runs off 2 hits in 7 innings. He struck out 6 Angels.

Keller could be hitting his stride. I think he’s worth a few bucks in a game where his team, the Royals are destined to be huge dogs.

Pick: Kansas City

L.A. Dodgers at L.A. Angels
When: Saturday, July 7 at 7:15 pm ET
Where: Angels Stadium, Anaheim, CA

Analysis: ESPN will broadcast Sunday’s Dodgers at Angels matchup. Dodgers’ starter Ross Stripling has become a reliable pitcher. He’s got a sub-era to go along with a 1.07 WHIP. Stripling hasn’t faced Angel batters enough to get an idea of how he’ll fare on Sunday.

LAA counters with pitcher Deck McGuire. This will be McGuire’s first start. He had been throwing as a reliever with the Blue Jays.

Because of McGuire’s lack of starting experience, Big Blue should take this one over the Halos. Dodgers win.

Pick: L.A. Dodgers
