The the last week of June is here and there is a trio of baseball bets that can win you some big cash.
MLB Expert Picks June 25-July 1
Milwaukee at Cincinnati
When: Thursday, June 28 at 7:10 pm ET
Where: Great American Ballpark, Cincinnati, OH
Analysis: Milwaukee sends Junior Guerra to the mound for their Thursday battle with the Cincinnati Reds. Guerra has a bad 3 and 5 record. However, his ERA is great at 2.82. He’s also got a decent WHIP at 1.17.
Guerra has faced Cincinnati batters 53 times. The Reds only have 12 hits from those 53 at-bats for a .226 batting average. Guerra has allowed 5 home runs from those 53 at-bats, though. That’s a high percentage of homers.
Cincinnati starter Anthony DeSclafani is 3 and 1. He’s won his last 3 battles. He didn’t yield more than 2 runs in any of his last 3 starts. DeSclafani is en fuego. He and the Reds are worth backing in this match up.
Cleveland at Oakland
When: Friday, June 29 at 10:05 pm ET
Where: Oakland Coliseum, Oakland, CA
Analysis: Cleveland listed starter Trevor Bauer has been one of the Tribe’s better starting pitchers this season. Bauer’s 2.44 ERA and 1.09 WHIP are both sensational. Trevor’s only 7 and 5 on the season, though.
Will he get the run support on Friday? On the surface, A’s starter Paul Blackburn doesn’t look capable of stopping the Tribe. His ERA is a ridiculous 8.08. But, he allowed 8 runs in a single inning versus the Houston Astros.
In Blackburn’s other 2 starts, he allowed a combined 3 total runs in 11 innings pitched. That makes Blackburn a sneaky good option in this game.
I like the A’s
Boston at New York Yankees
When: Saturday, June 30 at 7:15 pm ET
Where: Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY
Analysis: Boston battles the New York Yankees on Saturday. The Red Sox send pitcher Chris Sale to the mound. Sale has 144 strikeouts in 105 innings pitched. His ERA is a decent 2.66 while his WHIP is a great .92.
It’s impossible to back Sale and the Red Sox in this matchup, though. The Red Sox have lost 3 out of the last 4 games that Sale has started. For some reason, he’s not getting the backing he deserves.
I think the Yankees win. NYY possibly wins by 2 runs or more.
Pick: New York Yankees
