2014 MLB World Series Odds

The Latest 2014 World Series Odds Update

We’re just a couple months in to an already interesting baseball season, so the latest 2014 World Series odds update is worth a look for those seeking a nice value play. As I’ve said in recent posts, hammering the favorite isn’t always the soundest strategy. I think the Dodgers and Tigers, who are co-favorites at +600, are decent plays but those numbers aren’t going to shift between now and August.

Odds to Win the 2014 World Series

  • Los Angeles Dodgers: 6/1
  • St. Louis Cardinals: 8/1
  • Detroit Tigers: 9/1
  • Washington Nationals: 10/1
  • Boston Red Sox: 13/1
  • New York Yankees: 14/1
  • Tampa Bay Rays: 14/1
  • Texas Rangers: 18/1
  • Los Angeles Angels: 20/1
  • Oakland Athletics: 21/1
  • Atlanta Braves: 22/1
  • San Francisco Giants: 24/1
  • Cincinnati Reds: 30/1
  • Baltimore Orioles: 33/1
  • Pittsburgh Pirates: 35/1
  • Seattle Mariners: 37/1
  • Toronto Blue Jays: 40/1
  • Kansas City Royals: 45/1
  • Cleveland Indians: 50/1
  • Arizona D’Backs: 63/1
  • Philadelphia Phillies: 75/1
  • Milwaukee Brewers: 80/1
  • Chicago White Sox: 100/1
  • Colorado Rockies: 100/1
  • New York Mets: 100/1
  • San Diego Padres: 100/1
  • Chicago Cubs: 135/1
  • Minnesota Twins: 150/1
  • Miami Marlins: 170/1
  • Houston Astros: 500/1

The second favorites on the board are the Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals who share +800 odds. I’ve had my issues with the Nationals as a long term bet because they’re such a hot commodity in the market. The latest 2014 World Series odds update still has them floating at the top of the board, and it’s hard to trust them considering that they’ve never won a playoff series in their short franchise history. Hell, they’ve only made it to the post season once since 2005.

Interestingly enough, the oddsmakers are refusing to take chances with a couple hot tamales in the majors. The San Francisco Gants, who have routinely murdered the oddsmakers for doubting them in the playoffs, are holding steady at +1200 besides the New York Yankees and the stunning Oakland Athletics. It seems that the bookies aren’t taking any chances with the Bay area teams. Even Tampa Bay is getting a +1400 number in this 2014 World Series odds update.

No team is getting my attention in this price range more than the Milwaukee Brewers who are an insanely appealing +1600 to win the World Series right now. That number is sure to drop down in to favorite-territory. The Brewers have the best record in the majors, are the most profitable bet on the moneyline and the runline and are getting another MVP season out of Ryan Braun (I know, I know, I know). What more could you ask for?

Spending money on the latest 2014 World Series odds update seems a little ridiculous considering that its May, but it’s a smart time to gamble if you have a strong inclination about teams the oddsmakers have lost track of. Toronto is 40-to-1 and the Brewers at 16-to-1 seem like intriguing plays depending on your vantage point. Head over to the book and check out the latest 2014 World Series odds update for yourself!
