Yankees Vs Red Sox MLB Weekend Series Betting Picks

Alex Rodriguez and the New York Yankees (13-9) head to Boston to face David Ortiz and the Red Sox (12-10) with first place in the American League East on the line.

The Rex Sox have gone 5-5 in their last ten, dropping them one game behind the Yankees for the AL East lead, but Boston remains one of the favorites to win the AL Pennant at 11-2 odds in the MLB betting futures. New York has gone 7-3 in their last ten.

A Closer Look At My Yankees Vs Red Sox MLB Weekend Series Betting Picks

Game One: New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox
Projected Pitchers: Yankees: R Michael Pineda (3-0, 3.86 ERA) vs Red Sox: R Justin Masterson (2-0, 5.16 ERA)
Date: May 1, 2015
Start Time: 7:10 p.m. ET

New York sends Michael Pineda to the mound to battle their top rival, Boston, in the first of a 3-game series starting on Friday. Pineda can be either up or down. He was definitely up in his last, a 6 to 1 win over the Mets, and isn’t scheduled to start until this game.

Boston has had limited success versus Pineda. They’ve gone 11 out of 47 against him for a .234 average. But as well as Pineda has pitched against the Red Sox, Boston’s starter on Friday, Justin Masterson, has been even better versus the Yankees. He’s held New York to 24 hits from 110 at bats for a .218 average. Boston is the team to back in this game.

Game Two: New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox
Projected Pitchers: Yankees: CC Sabathia (0-4, 5.96 ERA) vs Red Sox: L Wade Miley (1-2, 8.62 ERA)
Date: May 2, 2015
Start Time: 1:35 p.m. ET
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Stadium: Fenway Park
TV Info: NESN
Stream: MLB.tv
Radio: New York Vs Boston

CC Sabathia, the Yankees’ starter in Game 2, hasn’t gotten over what ailed him last year. He’s 0 for 4 this season with a 5.96 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP. He’s been okay versus Boston. The Red Sox bat .248 versus CC. They’ve hit only 6 home runs in 226 at bats.

But a major problem for the Yankees in this matchup is that Wade Miley, the Boston starter, holds the Yankees to a .214 batting average. Unless Sabathia turns it around big time, and there’s no reason to believe that he will, the Yankees are once again going down to their bitter rivals.

Game Three: New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox
Projected Pitchers: Yankees: R Adam Warren (1-1, 4.35 ERA) vs Red Sox: R Joe Kelly (1-0, 4.94 ERA)
Date: May 3, 2015
Start Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Stadium: Fenway Park
TV Info: ESPN/WatchESPN
Stream: Watch ESPN
Radio: New York Vs Boston

The guess here is that the Yankees will be hoping to avoid a sweep with Nathan Eovaldi on Sunday. That’s probably not the guy that they want on the mound versus Boston. Red Sox batters have owned Eovaldi in the past.

He’s allowed the Red Sox to bat .435 against him. This includes Pablo Sandoval going 10 out of 14 and Hanley Ramirez going 3 out of 8. Boston counters Eovalid with Joe Kelly. Kelly’s dominated Yankee batters. New York struggles to a .181 batting average against Kelly. Boston rolls on Sunday night.
