NASCAR Kobalt 400 Betting Picks

NASCAR heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway this Sunday, March 6 for the Kobalt 400. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is an intermediate track, which should give drivers like Kevin Harvick a leg up on the competition.

But the favorite is going to be Dale Earnhardt Jr. after his smashing second place finish to Jimmie Johnson in last weekend’s Sprint Cup Series at Atlanta. Will Hendrick Motorsports come up huge again? They’ve got a great shot to do so. Keep reading to see who my Favorite to Win, my Smart Pick to Win and my Dark Horse Pick to Win are for this Sunday’s Kobalt 400!

Favorite To Win The NASCAR Kobalt 400: Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Dale Jr. figures to garner favoritism in this Sunday’s NASCAR Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Dale Jr. has 2 Top 5 finishes since 2014 in the Kobalt 400. His highest finish was second while his lowest finish was fourth, which happened in last year’s Kobalt 400. The real reason why bettors are going to jump on Jr. to take home the checkered flag this Sunday is because of his great finish in Atlanta this past Sunday. Jr. had a shot to beat fellow Hendrick driver Jimmie Johnson. The odds makers will have to make Dale Jr. the favorite for March 6. He’s going to have a shot to win it as the favorite. The Hendrick Motorsports magic has already started to envelope NASCAR.

Smart Pick To Win The NASCAR Kobalt 400: Kevin Harvick

Harvick is the defending Kobalt 400 winner. He started eighteenth before beating Martin Truex Jr. in last year’s Kobalt 400. In his race before the Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Harvick finished in forty-first place. What’s impressive about Harvick, and why I think he’s deserving as the Smart Pick to Win on Sunday, is that he excels over intermediate tracks. Harvick has an average finish of 9.40 in 25 races over intermediate tracks since February of 2014. That’s a terrific stat for the defending champion. Harvick ended up sixth last week in Atlanta.

Dark Horse Pick To Win The NASCAR Kobalt 400: Ryan Newman

We’re probably looking at around 20 to 30 to 1 on Newman to win this Sunday. Newman’s car has been terrific during qualifying this year. He’s started in the Top 10 in 3 out of 4 races. Unfortunately, his best finish so far in 2016 was an eleventh at the Daytona 500. Newman finished third in last year’s Kobalt 400. He also has a Top 5 finish and a Top 10 finish in the last 2 races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. His high finish was third while his low finish was seventh. Newman could be tough at huge odds in the Kobalt 400 on March 6.
