With the 2015 NBA All-Star game fast approaching, it is becoming more and more important to keep your eyes on the NBA playoff standings. And this week you should bet on 3 games with teams who are looking to close out the first half of the season with a bold playoff-readiness statement.

Do you ever wonder what Macgyver would feel like in a magnet factory? Well that is how I felt when I heard that outspoken Dallas Mavs owner & renowned Shark Mark Cuban called outsuperstar Kevin Durant for a spot on the NBA roster. And both are in action this week.

Best Bet – Memphis at Oklahoma City, Feb. 11 at 8:00pm ET, TSOH, FSOK

Oklahoma City is 3 and 1 straight up in their last 4, but only 2 and 2 against the spread in their last 4. They don’t have the best matchup against a very good Memphis team, which has an edge over the Thunder on the defensive end.

Memphis is 4 and 2 against the spread in their last 6 games and beat Oklahoma City 85 to 74 the last time that these two teams met. Memphis’ defense should take over in this matchup, which makes them the play ATS.

Pick: Memphis over Oklahoma City

Runner Up Best Bet – Utah at Dallas, Feb. 11 at 8:30 pm ET, ROOT, FSSW

Utah is a very good 15 and 11 on the road this season. Even though Dallas beat them 105 to 82 the last time that the 2 teams met, the game was way back in November. Dallas isn’t nearly as formidable since teams have figured out how to defend their three-point shooters now as they were then, and Utah is much better now than they were then.

The Jazz is led by Gordon Hayward who is averaging 19.6 points, 4.9 boards and 4.1 assists per game. He’s a Mr. Can Do Everything player while the center, Enes Kanter, is averaging 14 points and 7.7 boards per game. Utah is the pick against the spread.

Pick:  Utah Jazz Over Mark Cuban and The Mavs

Miss Congeniality Best Bet – Cleveland at Chicago, Feb. 12 at 8:00 pm ET, TNT

The spread should only be 1 or 2 points either way. That actually favors Cleveland who beat Chicago 108 to 94 when the two teams met on January 19 and is 7 and 3 against the spread in their last 10 games.

Chicago is 8 and 16 ATS at home and relies almost exclusively on Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol. Cleveland can counter Gasol with Timofey Mozgov and they have a player that can score with Rose in Kyrie Irving. What it means is that Chicago has nobody that can play with Lebron. That’s not good.

Pick: Cleveland over Chicago
