NBA Best Bets of the Week

NBA Best Bets of the Week March 14-20

We’re at mid-March in the current NBA Season. Golden State and San Antonio have shown their superiority all season long. The 2 best teams in the NBA clash on Saturday in what should be an entertaining matchup.

On Wednesday, ESPN broadcasts 2 games that make the NBA Best Bets of the Week list. The first is at 7:00 pm ET when Oklahoma City takes on Boston in Boston. The second game takes place at 9:30 pm ET on Wednesday when the L.A. Clippers travel to Houston to battle the Rockets. Keep reading for my NBA Best Bets for this week!

Oklahoma City at Boston
When: Wednesday, March 16 at 7:00 pm ET
TV: ESPN

The Thunder has lost 4 out of their last 6. What’s really bad for OKC is that they are a terrible 11 and 20 against the spread in away games this season. They have a tendency to blow 4th quarter leads. Oklahoma City blew a lead to Golden State on March 3 when they allowed the Warriors to outscore them 39 to 23 in the 4th quarter. The Thunder lost 106 to 121.

San Antonio outscored the Thunder 27 to 17 in the 4th quarter in a game on March 12. The Spurs beat Oklahoma City 93 to 85. Boston beat Oklahoma City 100 to 85 the last time that these 2 teams met. That was last November. Things haven’t changed too much with each squad. Boston is a decent 19-14-1 ATS this season. I like the Celtics in this matchup.

Pick: Boston

Los Angeles Clippers at Houston
When: Wednesday, March 16 at 9:30 pm ET
TV: ESPN

Even without Blake Griffin, the Clippers have proven to be one of the better teams in the NBA this season. The duo of point-guard Chris Paul and center DeAndre Jordan have been deadly to opponents. That’s probably why Jordan decided to turn his back on the Dallas Mavericks during the off-season. Playing with a point-guard like Paul really helps your stats.

Jordan averages 69% shooting from the field. He grabs 14.1 boards and blocks 2.3 shots per game. The Clippers beat Houston 140 to 132 in overtime in the last game between these 2. Although Dwight Howard outplayed Jordan in that game, Chris Paul outplayed James Harden and the rest of the Clippers’ supporting cast dominated Houston’s supporting cast. I like the Clippers to get the job done again versus the reeling Rockets who may not even make the playoffs this season.

Pick: Los Angeles Clippers

Golden State at San Antonio
When: Saturday, March 19 at 8:30 pm ET
TV: ABC

San Antonio suffered one of its most embarrassing losses on January 25, the last time that the Spurs took on the Warriors. The game was played at Golden State. By halftime the score was 62 to 47. The final score had Golden State knocking off San Antonio 120 to 90.

San Antonio should turn things around in the rematch. The Spurs are an awesome 20 and 12 ATS at home this season. They are ranked first in the NBA in field goal percentage at over 48%. They are ranked first in three-point percentage allowed, field goal percentage allowed and points allowed per game at 32.4%, 43.2% and 92.3 points allowed per game. The Spurs are the play.

Pick: San Antonio
