NBA Betting Tips – The Best Games To Bet This Weekend

The most exciting game of the weekend is between the Clippers and Thunder on Sunday, but since both of those teams have a handful of games between now and then I’m going to whip out some NBA betting tips (click here to view live NBA odds) on other matchups. Here are four wars that have caught my eye and been earmarked as the best games to bet this weekend.

NBA Betting Tips – The Best Games To Bet This Weekend

Cleveland Cavaliers over TORONTO RAPTORS (Friday 7pm EST)

I have no idea what’s gotten in to Cleveland lately. They’re a virtually insane 6-0 SU and ATS in their last 6 games and have exploded out of the break with dominant wins against Orlando and Philadelphia. I would never suggest Cleveland in my NBA betting tips without provocation, and while I like the Raptors as a long term grind play this is one matchup that might actually be tough for them to cover. They’re just 12-12-1 ATS when playing at the Air Canada Center this season. Cleveland matches up very well with the Raptors in terms of strengths and weaknesses, and will have a generous line considering Toronto’s newfound success. Toronto is a far better bet when playing away from home.

L.A. Clippers over MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES (Friday 8pm EST)

Right after I nominated the L.A. Clippers as one of the best regular season NBA betting teams earlier this week, they go out and get spanked by the Spurs 103-113. Now they’re just 4-6 ATS in their last 10 games. So why back them here? Because if the Clippers have any actual rival over the past three seasons, it’s the Memphis Grizzlies. They constantly face each other in the playoffs. One thing I still love about the Clippers is their value on the road where they’re a comfortable 17-11 ATS. And no matter what, Memphis is a terrible team to bet on at just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall which includes an 0-4 ATS run at home. This won’t have the flavor of a rivalry game on the schedule, but the vitriol will be present on the hardwood.

WASHINGTON WIZARDS over New Orleans Pelicans (Saturday 7pm EST)

This just seems like free money on the table. The Wizards are a generally tough team to track, but I like what I’ve seen out of them lately in spite of a 93-103 loss against Toronto. The Wizards are just 2-3 SU in their last 5 games but are also 4-1 ATS in those matchups. They are not an automatic bet-on team, but they’re certainly a stronger commodity than the atrocious New Orleans Pelicans.

The basketball fan in me is intrigued by the sordid mess of talent in the Big Easy, but they’ve also gone just 1-3 SU and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games. The Pelicans should be a bit better than they are, and they have a lot of exciting talent on board, but the Wizards have been far more consistent as a betting team and New Orleans is still 10-15-2 ATS on the road this season. Just go against New Orleans in NBA betting until further notice.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS over Brooklyn Nets (Saturday 10:30pm EST)

The Warriors have come out of the break swinging wildly. They stomped the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night with a decisive 101-92 victory and have a pair of marquee matchups. They play Houston on Thursday night as well before hosting Brooklyn on Saturday night. It’s a big week for these guys.

If you’re going to listen to any NBA betting tips I dish out throughout the season, then please don’t trust Brooklyn on the road. Any team that has trouble playing defense is going to get run over by these Warriors. The Nets may rank 12th in terms of points against, but that’s a slightly misleading stat. They have almost no perimeter defense to speak of, and when you’re matched up against the Splash Brothers you need people who can wander out in to the depths and get stops. The short version of this NBA betting tip – this is a matchup nightmare for the Brooklyn Nets.
