The first meeting between these two teams was pretty good with the Mavericks pulling away in the last few minutes to take the win, now with Dallas traveling to Charlotte the Bobcats feel that on their home floor they have a chance to even up the global score given that this will be the last game between the two teams this season. Dallas is happy to have Dirk back in full health and his matchup against McRoberts will be the factor in this game, the post up play will be key for either of these two teams to pull away and seal the win.
Dallas has shown a little weakness this season in rebounding, because Nowitzki is so active on the offensive side he doesn’t contribute as much in the rebounding as other power forwards which means that center Dalembert has more on his plate when it comes to protecting the rim. Ball movement is important but nothing is more valuable for this Mavericks team then to establish their inside presence right away, not allow the Bobcats to cut to the rim on easy passes that could cause foul trouble later in the game.
Charlotte is pulling a .500 between their road and home wins but given as this last game was so close till really only a few minutes left I think that this team will bring a little more energy knowing they got out hustled last game. Jefferson will be their main go to guy, he commands their offense with his inside post game and ability to rebound, his defense is not his focal point but they move players around for that. The Bobcats must rotate the ball and get off uncontested looks, they have youth on their side and should run the floor much better than the veteran Mavericks do so catching them in transition will work.
The Bobcats find a way to push the ball and control the paint in this game at home, they will get the win here by 4 points or more and look for the scoring to surpass the 197 mark.
