Can Irving, Red-Hot Celtics Pull Off Huge Upset Against Harden and Incendiary Rockets?
Kyrie Irving and the red-hot Boston Celtics will look to pull off the huge upset when they take on James Harden and an even hotter Houston Rockets team in their huge nationally-televised matchup of championship hopefuls on Saturday. Irving and the Celtics have not lost since the all-star break, but, then again, neither has Houston.
Boston Celtics Vs Houston Rockets Final Score Prediction
Boston has won four straight since the all-star break with three of their wins coming by double digits. Boston has scored at least 109 points in each victory and spanked Charlotte 134-106 on Wednesday as a whopping seven players scored in double-digits for the C’s. Kyrie Irving scored 34 points in the first three quarters and then sat out the fourth with the rest of Boston’s starters as the Celtics. Boston took the lead 12 seconds into the game and never trailed from there.
"I thought we played with force. I thought we executed well. But that was just one of those nights where you had great, great shot-making," Boston coach Brad Stevens said.
The Celtics shot a blistering 62.1 percent from the field in their best shooting performance since 2013. Boston is averaging a whopping 119 points per contest over their last four games.
"I think that for the first few games we’ve done a great job of responding," Irving said. "And we just want to keep it up because the season definitely doesn’t end tomorrow."
Boston will need to play their best basketball if they want to have a chance to beat a Houston team that has won a whopping 14 straight games.
James Harden scored 17 of his 25 points in the first quarter in Houston’s 105-92 dismantling of the L.A. Clippers on Wednesday night. More importantly, he pulled off one of the best highlights of the season when he crossed over Clippers swingman Wesley Johnson so badly that Johnson fell to the ground. Harden then stared at the floored defender before drilling a three-pointer. Afterward, he said he wasn’t trying to show up his embarrassed opponent.
"I was just trying to figure out what he was doing," Harden said. "I didn’t know. I was looking at him and he was looking at me. I was thinking, `What are you doing?’ I was going to shoot it, but I was waiting to figure out what was going on. I was confused. And then I shot it."
Celtics Vs Rockets Final Score Analysis
Houston has won four of their last six games by double digits by lost to Boston 99-98 in Boston on Dec. 28. This time around I’m expecting the Rockets to extract their revenge in what looks like a higher-scoring affair. Boston is playing well right now and they’ll give Houston a way to go in this affair, but in the end, I don’t see the C’s getting the road upset against a Rockets team that both, wants revenge and has been rock-solid at home this season (24-6). The Rockets get the win in a contest that could be an NBA Finals preview.
