Christmas Week NBA Free PicksJosh Bailey
We have a lot of superstars and NBA teams to bet on this Holiday week including Christmas day included in this set of NBA Free Picks of the Week. Of course, the big one is the Finals rematch of the Champion Cleveland Cavaliers hosting the new Golden State Warriors with some guy named Durant there now. WOW, this is going to be fun to watch and watch and watch.
Christmas Week NBA Free Picks
Los Angeles Lakers at Miami Heat
When: Thursday, Dec. 22 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: American Airlines Arena – Miami, Florida
Analysis: This may not be the anticipated clash we were used to years ago, but the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat ALWAYS bring game and personality, especially around the Holidays. This was a bit harder to handicap, but there is definitely a strong side to take in this.
The Lakers aren’t doing much offensively though they have had some people hurt. They are giving it away on defense letting their opponents score 110.5 points a game. That is close to the worst and they better get some shot making abilities going or Sixers will be the only team they beat.
The Heat just got worked by the Celtics Sunday night falling down 22 points in just the first half but they came back. Goran Dragic put down 31 points with Hassan Whiteside having a strong 2nd half to help close the gap to 10 by the finish. Hassan had most of his 23 points and 17 rebounds in the 2nd half. The Heat seem a little more together than LA.
Pick: Miami Heat
Oklahoma City Thunder at Boston Celtics
When: Friday, Dec. 23 at 7:30 pm ET
Where: TD Garden – Boston, Massachusetts
Analysis: It seems the Celtics have everybody on the court and healthy with Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder and Al Horford all playing as a group. They just came off 3 losses by having 2 sweet games beating the Hornets on Friday and Miami Heat Sunday. That was heavy Thomas and Horford which teams will have to get used to
They are cooking with gas now, so this game with OKC should obviously be another Russell Westbrook show like usual since he is averaging a triple double while having the most points per game in the NBA.
The last 4 games Jae Crowder is shooting almost 50% from 3 point land, so Boston is going to be a tough one right now.
Pick: Boston Celtics
Golden State Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers
When: Saturday, Dec. 25 at 2:30 pm ET
Where: Quicken Loans Arena – Cleveland, Ohio
Analysis: This is always a dream matchup for us NBA fans that love to bet basketball, and these teams have a little history too hahaha. This Christmas Day NBA Finals rematch is in Cleveland since you remember the Cavs were the first ever in the NBA Finals coming back from a 3-1 deficit to win the Championship.
Can you imagine the super shooters from Golden State plus the huge addition of Kevin Durant in this Xmas Super Show? Just between the big 3 of Durant, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson average 72.0 points a game! That is epic and matched with Cleveland’s Lebron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love averaging 71.0
Those are impressive numbers with a court full of superstars and I think the biggest question or thing I am thinking is whether Cleveland can slow down or disrupt that fast paced action the Warriors are so known for.
Now that Golden State has Durant (WOW), it seems that has to be tougher for the Cavs to link in, mess up and change the game like they did in the Finals. Durant and Lebron should be battling head-to-head I think and how freakin’ cool is that?! I have to think Cleveland will need some time to adjust to a specimen like Durant added to that mix. For now, I have to think the Warriors clean it up on Xmas day.
Pick: Golden State Warriors
