NBA Expert Betting Picks – Tuesday EditionNoah Williams
There’s a nice collection of games on tonight’s schedule and I’ve earmarked four games in my NBA expert betting picks that have caught my attention. Don’t forget to check out our amazing All-Star prop bets for this weekend as well. Now let’s get to tonight’s games.
CHICAGO BULLS -1.5 over Atlanta Hawks (8pm EST)
Chicago has actually been a pretty good play overall despite a bevy of injuries and weird trade moves that haven’t actually made the team any better. They’re trying to coast, and that uncertainty makes them a bit of a stay away play in the eyes of most gamblers. So why bother jamming them in my NBA expert betting picks? Simple – the Hawks are lousy against disciplined, defensive teams.
Miami Heat -3.5 over PHOENIX SUNS (9pm EST)
The Heat have always dominated the Suns and are 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings. I would actually like Phoenix here if Miami hadn’t just lost to Utah. LeBron and company will be out to reassert themselves as the team to beat. They know that people always cry Chicken Little whenever they lose back-to-back games. There is more pride on this team than talent (which is hard to believe) and they’ll be out to prove that they’re not to be taken lightly.
There’s an outside chance here that Phoenix tries to ramp up the pace and runaway with this game literally, but the Suns aren’t as sturdy against good defensive teams, especially when their opponents have athletic forwards who can shift around and cover zones underneath and away from the rim. The Suns are 3-2 SU and ATS in their last 5 home games. They’re more of a matchup play than a bet-on team, and this is a bad matchup for them.
Oklahoma City Thunder +1.0 over PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS (10pm EST)
The Blazers haven’t been one of my preferred NBA expert betting picks teams for a while, and even though they’re 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS in their last 3 games, I think they’re in for a rough game as they try to contain Kevin Durant. The Blazers may be 3-1 SU in their last four home games, but they’re also 1-3 ATS in those contests as well. And in a huge, Western Conference statement game between two of the best teams, are you really going to bet against Kevin Durant?
Utah Jazz +1.5 over LOS ANGELES LAKERS (10:30pm EST)
This probably isn’t the most invigorating bet to make, but if you’re looking for a late night catch-up play than the Jazz are just the ticket. The Lakers seem like a fun play but they’re also 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games, and Utah is starting to show a little more punch. The Jazz match up pretty well against the injury rattled Lakers, and with Trey Burke and Gordon Hayward matched up against Nash and Blake, the younger Jazz have a much better advantage in the backcourt. The market price on the Lakers is still a bit high, despite the absence of Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol, so I prefer to lean away from them in my NBA expert betting picks.
