NBA Expert Picks Dec 5-11Josh Bailey
A week with just a single college football game may sound depressing, but the NBA oddsmakers have blessed us a trio of NBA games that you can bet and win big on. Can Oklahoma City beat Houston on Friday in a big Western Conference battle? What’s going to happen when Miami travels to Chicago to take on the player that put them on the map, Dwayne Wade? Are the L.A. Clippers good enough to beat New Orleans only 2 days after taking on Golden State?
NBA Expert Picks December 5th-11th
Houston at Oklahoma City
When: Friday, Dec. 9 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Chesapeake Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
Analysis: Houston versus Oklahoma City on Friday, Dec. 9 is a matchup between arguably the 2 best point-guards in the NBA. James “The Beard” Harden tackles the venerable Russell Westbrook. Who figures to win in this showdown?
It’s tough, but I’m leaning towards Oklahoma City. Starting the week, the Thunder has won 5 in a row. 2 of the 5 wins were on the road. When it comes to the matchup versus Houston, Oklahoma City should have a decided edge in the frontcourt.
Houston has secured a 13 and 7 record due to their ability to put the basketball in the hoop. The Rockets average 111.4 points per game. But most of those points aren’t coming from their inside players.
Oklahoma City’s Enes Kanter and Steve Adams can control the paint in this matchup.
I like OKC to win and cover ATS.
Pick: Oklahoma City
Miami at Chicago
When: Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: United Center, Chicago, IL
Analysis: The house that Wade built travels to the house that Wade hopes to rebuild. Miami travels to Chicago to take on the Bulls on Saturday, Dec. 10. All eyes will be on superstar Dwayne Wade, now a Chicago Bull. Wade used to be the heart and soul of the Heat.
Chicago last battled Miami on Nov. 10. In that game, D-Wade only scored 13 points. But, the Bulls had 6 players in double figures. They beat the Heat 98 to 95. Miami isn’t a bad team. They just don’t match up well with Chicago’s starting backcourt of Wade and Rajon Rondo.
It’s hard for me to go against the Bulls in this game. This is especially true since Wade figures to be fired up taking on his ex-coach and ex-teammates.
New Orleans at L.A. Clippers
When: Saturday, Dec. 10 at 10:30 pm ET
Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
Analysis: At 16-5 to start the week, the Clippers are only 2 games behind the Golden State Warriors in the Pacific Division. LAC goes into this matchup after taking on the Warriors on Dec. 7. That game could go a long way in determining how well the Clippers play on Saturday, right?
Not really. LAC dominated the New Orleans Pelicans 114 to 96 on Dec. 2. DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin kept great Pelican player Anthony Davis off the boards. Both Jordan and Griffin grabbed double-digits in rebounds while Davis only had 6.
Unless the Pelicans suddenly find a way to counter Jordan and Griffin, they have no shot of keeping it close against the L.A. Clippers this Saturday.
Pick: Los Angeles Clippers
