NBA Expert Picks Feb 26 – March 4

Golden State Warriors (46-14) at Washington Wizards (35-25)
When: Wednesday, Feb 28, 2018 at 8:00 PM ET
Where: Capital One Arena, Washington, DC
TV: ESPN

The Washington Wizards may have rolled over Philadelphia 109-94 on Sunday night, but this is the same team that got smacked around by uninspiring Charlotte 122-105 two nights earlier. The Wiz might be playing at home in this contest, but I don’t see them beating a Golden State Warriors team that lasted Oklahoma City off the court in its 112-80 nationally-televised home win on Saturday just as I expected. The Dubs are heating up and taking their play very seriously right now as they start moving closer to the postseason and that means the underachieving Wizards are in trouble.

Pick: Golden State

Philadelphia 76ers (32-26) at Cleveland Cavaliers (35-24)
When: Thursday, Mar 1, 2018 at 8:00 PM ET
Where: Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, OH
TV: TNT

Philadelphia is clearly headed in the right direction after years of futility and they have a clear-cut pair of stars in Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, but the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James are a bit desperate right now and playing at home in this mid-week matchup. Philly has been playing good basketball in winning seven straight before having their winning ways snapped on Sunday night against Washington, but again, Cleveland should be quite desperate seeing as how they’ve lost two of their last three including a 110-94 loss to San Antonio on Sunday.

Pick: Cleveland

Boston Celtics (42-19) at Houston Rockets (46-13)
When: Saturday, Mar 3, 2018 at 7:30 PM ET
Where: Toyota Center, Houston, TX
TV: ABC

Boston has won two straight heading into the new week including their 121-112 win over the Knicks on Saturday and the C’s are just one of four, 40-win teams in the league right now. While Boston has been a bit of a revelation this season, they don’t have enough firepower to take down James Harden and a Houston Rockets team that is clearly on a mission to unseat Golden State as both, Western Conference and league champions. Houston has won 12 straight at the time of this writing and doesn’t look like they’re letting up off the gas pedal anytime soon!

Pick: Houston
