NBA Expert Picks Jan 29 – Feb 4Noah Williams
Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics will look to pick up the pace and get back to their winning ways when they host Kristaps ‘The Unicorn’ Porzingis and the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
Ben Simmons will look to put up another triple-double when the blossoming Philadelphia 76ers visit Victor Oladipo and the surprising Indiana Pacers on Saturday.
Last but not least, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers will host James Harden and the Houston Rockets in another Saturday night matchup, later that day.
My Free NBA Expert Picks Jan 29 – Feb 4
New York (22-28) at Boston (35-15)
When: Wednesday, January 31 at 8:00 PM ET
Where: TD Garden, Boston, MA
Analysis: The New York Knicks got off to a nice start this season, but they’ve largely struggled in recent weeks and head into their Wednesday night matchup against Boston having gone 3-7 over their last 10. While Kristaps Porzingis and company got the win over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night, they’re not beating the Celtics in this contest. The C’s have gone a modest 5-5 over their last 10 and will be hungry to get the win after falling to Golden State 109-105 in their nationally-televised thriller on Saturday. Kyrie Irving goes off in this one to lead Boston to victory.
Pick: Celtics 106 Knicks 97
Philadelphia (24-22) at Indiana (27-23)
When: Saturday, February 3 at 7:00 PM ET
Where: Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, IN
TV: CSN, FSMW
Analysis: Philadelphia has gone 7-3 over their last 10 and hit the new week coming off a 122-112 loss to Oklahoma City on Sunday night. Indiana has gone 6-4 over their last 10 and hit the new week coming off a thrilling 114-112 win over Orlando that helped them improve to 3-1 over their last four. Still, I’m feeling an ‘upset special’ in this contest if only because the Pacers won’t have an answer for Joel Embiid – or Ben Simmons for that matter! Still, I wanna’ give Indiana guard Victor Oladipo some love for the all-star season he’s been having since day 1.
Pick: Sixers 112 Pacers 107
Houston (35-13) at Cleveland (29-19)
When: Saturday, February 3 at 8:30 PM ET
Where: Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, OH
Analysis: While LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers have won two straight entering the new week, including their 121-104 win over Detroit on Sunday night, the Cavs are not…repeat, not, the pick to win this Saturday night, nationally-televised showdown. Not only has Houston won five of their last six games and eight of 10 overall, the boys from H-Town are too loaded and too hungry for the dysfunctional Cavs to keep up with. Besides, I’m completely certain that James Harden and company want to deliver a statement-making message to Cleveland. This one won’t be very close!
Pick: Houston 116 Cleveland 105
