NBA Picks Thanksgiving Week

Oklahoma City Thunder at Golden State Warriors
When: Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 1030 pm ET
Where: Oracle Arena, Oakland, CA

Analysis: As of Nov. 18, Oklahoma City’s done very well against the spread in away games. The Thunder are 5-2 ATS. Overall, they’re 10-5 SU and ATS.
Golden State remains the best team in the NBA even though they’ve got some things to deal with. Last week, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant got into an argument that spilled into the locker room.

Green’s been hurt recently while Steph Curry is out until late November. OKC could be catching the Warriors at the perfect time. The Thunder are the play on the moneyline.

Pick: Oklahoma City moneyline

Utah Jazz at L.A. Lakers
When: Friday, Nov. 23 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA

Analysis: In season’s past, the Jazz have relied heavily on their defense. Utah’s defense used to be one of the top units in the NBA. That’s not the case anymore.

The Jazz rank 27th in field goal percentage allowed. Opponents also shoot close to 35% versus Utah’s defense. Utah only scores 106.8 points per, meaning that unless their defense gets it together soon, Utah won’t be any better than .500.

Friday’s opponent, the L.A. Lakers, have gone 6-2 in their last 8 heading into their Nov. 18 game with the Miami Heat. The Lakers should have no trouble winning and covering as the favorite.

Pick: L.A. Lakers

San Antonio Spurs at Milwaukee Bucks
When: Saturday, Nov. 24 at 8:30 pm ET
Where: Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee, WI

Analysis: San Antonio’s fallen to 7-7 before their Sunday, Nov. 18 matchup with Golden State. The Spurs aren’t good enough to hang with Milwaukee on Saturday unless the Bucks suffer a couple of tough injuries.

Because Milwaukee hosts San Antonio, we should expect the Bucks to be undervalued in this matchup. Milwaukee should win by 8 to 12 points. They might blow out the Spurs by around 20.

Pick: Milwaukee Bucks
