Former Celtics Host Ex-Teammates in Brooklyn

I don’t expect too much bad blood as the Celtics meet up for the first time against the team that gutted them like a pig during the offseason, it will also be the first time that Terry, Garnett and Pierce play against the Celtics since their trade, I expect this to be an emotional game for Pierce as it will mark the first time in his 16 years career that he finds himself on the opposite side of the Celtics bench. Boston will look to win this game at all coasts, they have not looked very good losing both of their preseason games but I think this game might mean a little more to them as they have to show that they will be ok, they can survive without their backbone.

Boston came into this season ranked the 24th overall team, I’m not ready to expect a 2007 season again but I’m not expecting more than 40 wins this year. It’s going to be hard being a Celtics fan but we always bounce back. Expect this game to be a playoff caliber matchup as these two teams already have bad blood between them and the new guys that came over from Brooklyn will also want to show off. I like Gerald Wallace in this game as I think he will really shine as well as Jeff green, lookout for those two guys.

The Nets are going to take the game much slower then the Celtics will, they are not too interested in winning at all costs because they have bigger goals down the road, so look for a slower paced offense from the Nets while they look to set up their defense and take key players out of the game with their collapsing zone. Pierce will hit the floor with Green more than likely covering him, I think it will be more for the show then the game.

What to Expect:

I expect the Nets to still play hard and lead most of the game but the Celtics will not give up too much room as they pull away late in the fourth with their starters in the game, they need a win here and this would add to the momentum, regardless if its only preseason. The Nets are -4 and I see the Celtics taking this game straight up, mi opinion is to take Boston as they pick up their first win.
