The Best and Worst NBA Teams To Bet On or Against

NBA Free Picks – Dallas Mavericks at Denver Nuggets

The Dallas Mavericks have been one of the most entertaining teams to gauge in NBA free picks because when I saw this roster at the beginning of the season, I frankly couldn’t believe what Mark Cuban had done. Imagine my surprise to see a defensively inept roster on paper holding on to a playoff spot steadily throughout the season. It’s a wonder that the Mavericks are remotely competitive, and it’s even crazier that they’re a profitable team in NBA betting.

Times have been a bit tougher lately as the bandwagon’s gotten fuller, and expectations for a Dirk-led team have risen. The Mavericks have gone 6-4 SU and 5-5 ATS in their last 10 games overall. And this team – which has no defensive stalwart to speak of – has been favored in seven of those games! Such is life in NBA free picks when we’re caught in the midst of one of the worst seasons of professional basketball ever.

Still, a handful of Dallas backers have made their money on the road this year with the Mavericks going a handsome 21-11 ATS when travelling. That trend was as hot as Jennifer Lawrence leading in to the break but has cooled off a bit through February. Dallas is 4-3 ATS in their last 7 road games.

Pepsi Center, 1000 Chopper Circle
Denver, Colorado

I’ve been beating up on the Denver Nuggets all year long because…well…so has the rest of the league. The Nuggets are now 1-9 SU and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games which feels like a sentence I’ve been writing every week for the past two months. Denver is coming off a 96-102 loss against Portland where they covered a mammoth +12.0 line. Fortunately, if you enjoy betting against these guys as much as I do, the fact that they’re at home should restore your faith.

This game essentially comes down to a solid road team against an awful home team in terms of NBA betting. Denver’s horrifying 10-19 ATS record at the Pepsi Center combined with Dallas’s relatively strong road record should push you in the proper direction. And if not, just remember that Randy Foye is Denver’s leading scorer with a whopping 12.4 points per game. I mean…c’mon man. This is a very simple NBA free pick to hand out even if you’re a bit nervous about Dallas’s overall reliability on paper.
