Golden State destroyed the LeBron-less Cavs by a shocking score of 112-94 in the first meeting between these two on January 9. Warriors Klay Thomson scored 24 points, and Steph Curry added 23.
"It seems like, for the most part, if we keep it close defensively, eventually we’re going to have Klay and Steph hit back-to-back 3s and wear you out with the way we move the ball," Warriors center Andrew Bogut said after the win.
The Warriors scored 36 fast-break points in that game, outscoring the Cavaliers by 33 such points. Golden State handily covered the spread as a 13.5 point favorite, but the total went UNDER the 210.5 points established by the NBA oddsmakers.
Golden State has covered the spread in nine of the last 11 games against Cleveland, and in those games the Cavs only came out with a W in four games.
The Warriors have the top scoring team in all of the NBA, averaging a colossal 110.3 points per game, while their achilles heel defense ranks 18th, allowing 99.7 PPG. The Cavs have the 8th-ranked offense in the league averaging 102.6 points per game, while allowing 98.8 PPG. They are 18th in rebounds per game and 12th in assists. Lebron James leads the team averaging 25.8 points per game, along 7.3 assists.
