The Grizzlies really started off this season in the gutter, they have had issues all year round but as the all-star weekend drew to a close it seems that this team decided to make a change at all costs. The Wizards have actually done something similar, they have found something that works and they are winning again. So this game will have an added interest to it as both of these teams are still in the hunt for the post season and a win in this game could really make the team believe in what they’re doing…
Memphis knows that it has a lot to prove if they want to get back to where they were a few seasons ago but the way they have been playing it shows they believe, they have beaten the Wizards once this season and if they can come out on the road and play their style of basketball they have a real chance to turn their future around. I expect the Grizzlies to go out of their way to protect the ball in this game while at the same time pounding the post game given that Nene is out due to injury for this game.
Washington understands that playing on their home floor is a huge advantage in this modern NBA time, they lost to Memphis once already and I can bet that will give them motivation in this one to reach for that extra rebound that could be the difference in this one. Center Gortat had a career game against Toronto and he will need to have another one for this team to pull away, watch him look for the mismatch and take advantage of it in transition.
This game has the Wizards favorite by a point because they are at home and after really looking at the matchup complications for Washington I have the Grizzlies taking this game by four points with help from a few last minute fouls.
