Things have always been close between these two teams but this season the Hawks have had the Celtics number. They play them to well in the low post that the Boston rookies cannot find the angle to defend them right. Atlanta is still in the war with the Knicks for that final playoff spot, they cannot afford any losses before the Knicks get theirs. Boston actually plays better on the road then they have at home this season so look for a good game, the Celtics will need to get an early run going if they want a chance at this game.
Look for Boston to have Rondo come out of the gate with Bradley behind him looking to attack the Hawks rim. Atlanta does not defend the area very well, they pick their battles and they know that they have a much slower help defense rotation then they should, giving up the lane. Sullinger will need to have a big game on the boards for Boston to stay in this game and keep it interesting. On the offensive side of the ball Jeff Green is the only one that can generate enough high flying offense to get the rest of the team excited.
Atlanta is a shooting team, we all know that and so do the Hawks, so why try to hide it, the Celtics are ranked 29 th in overall defense meaning they are not stopping anything at all, they will look to match Atlanta by scoring. I actually have the Hawks team as a big sleeper as long as they make it, I think they have row potential that can make this team be great sooner than later.
Pick: Take the Hawks in this game, they will cover that -4.5 spread because of their recent will power to make the best out of a bad situation.
