This should be a high scoring game as the Pelicans are starting to find their wings and the Suns are looking to outscore anyone that gets between them and their chance at the playoffs. Phoenix has won all the games against New Orleans this season and now they have the chance in this fourth and final one to sweep the Pelicans for the year. I think things will be a little different though this time around because of the inside game that the Pelicans seem to have found, the suns better come prepared with their defense because things will not be as easy as they were before.
The Suns will come into this game looking to mismatch the perimeter shooters, Phoenix has tall guards and that allows them to have a better release point on their shots as well as the space they create off their screens. This team can shoot from anywhere but I think it will be the matchup between Dragic at point and Jrue Holiday as both guys will have to find a way to not only score inside but make sure they protect the ball and make the right passes for their teams to score.
New Orleans’s Anthony Davis has really grown into his power forward position this season after spending most of last year on the DL. He is a strong guy down low that can also pull his man out of the paint to cover the shot. He is not the fastest down the court and his defense lacks a little finesse but he can get blocks and post up well. I expect the Pelicans to really get the ball low and work their way from there, the Suns do not have the best post defense and a guy like Anthony could really take advantage.
Pick: Take the Suns in this one -8, the Pelicans will keep it close but in the end the opportunity of going to the playoffs will push the Suns a little more.
