2017 NBA Betting Picks

Houston at Washington
When: Friday, December 29, 2017 at 7:00 PM ET
Where: Capital One Arena, Washington, D.C.
TV: NBA TV

Analysis: The Houston Rockets have won eight their last 10, but they’ve also dropped two straight to the lowly Lakers and Clippers heading into Christmas. Washington has won six of 10 including their 130-103 win over Orlando on Saturday. Houston has gone 12-1 on the road while Washington has gone 10-6 at home. For me, Washington is just too undisciplined and too unfocused to beat a Houston team that can score the ball in bunches whether Chris Paul is on the court or not.

Pick: Houston 115 Washington 109

Milwaukee at Oklahoma City
When: Friday, December 29, 2017 at 7:00 PM ET
Where: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
TV: FSWI, FSOK

Analysis: Milwaukee has gone 5-5 over their last 10 and heads into the new week coming off a 111-106 loss to Charlotte that snapped their modest two-game winning streak. Oklahoma City has gone 7-3 over the same span, but they’ve heated up in winning four straight including their 103-89 win over Utah heading into Christmas Day. For this Friday night matchup, I’m going with the Thunder to get the narrow home win in a contest that just doesn’t feature much defense.

Pick: Oklahoma City 105 Milwaukee 102

Memphis at Golden State
When: Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 8:30 PM ET
Where: Oracle Arena, Oakland, CA
TV: CSNB

Analysis: Memphis has lost eight of their last 10 games but managed to get past the Clippers 115-112 on Saturday night while Golden State had their 11-game winning streak snapped in their stunning 96-81 loss to Golden State on Saturday night. The Dubs average almost 18 points per game more than the Grizzlies and Memphis gives up 4.2 points per game more than they average (97.1 ppg). If the Dubs aren’t favored to win this one by more than 15 points, I say, back them to cover the chalk!

Pick: Golden State 121 Memphis 103
