With only a two game difference between the Warriors and the Mavericks this one will have a lot riding on it in terms of post season opportunities. Monta Ellis who was once known as a Warrior when he played for them is now a Maverick and nothing would make his day better then beating his old team on their home floor. This is the third game of four and both teams picked up a win already this season. Dallas knows that a win here gets them within 1.5 games of Golden State and looking ahead to both schedules that looks very good for the Texas team.
Dallas Mavericks vs. Golden State Mavericks
10:30 PM ET, March 11, 2014
ORACLE Arena, Oakland, CA
The Mavericks started the season off slow but have found themselves in this second half of their season beating top performing teams from both conferences. If there is one things that they have is its experience, even as an aging roster they still have more in the tank then say the Nets or the Spurs. I like the way they are playing, moving the ball and really setting up their plays, rotating it from the post to wing and back. Nowitzki is on fire recently, saying that the rim feels like crater and that he is shooting a marble.
Golden State will run the ball, their game plan will be to tier this older Mavericks team or get the bench players on the floor for longer periods of time. Golden State is a shooting team first but their transition options are very good and they have some players like Thompson that can run the floor and be aggressive in the paint on the other side. I think that this game will be close like the previous two have been with more than likely a final shot required to get a winner. The Warriors are -2.5 and I like them because they are on the floor having lost the last game in Dallas.
