Must Watch NBA Games Jan 7-13

If you are betting on basketball this week then use my trio of NBA picks for must-watch games for the week of January 7 to the 13th.

Must Watch NBA Games Jan 7-13

Milwaukee Bucks at Houston Rockets
When: Wednesday, Jan. 1 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Toyota Center, Houston, TX
TV: ESPN

Analysis: The Milwaukee Bucks look to continue their incredible season when they head to Houston to take on the Rockets. Milwaukee’s been as good as any team in the NBA this season.

The Bucks have a daunting 27-11 record. Before their 116-123 loss to Toronto on Jan. 5, they had won 5 straight. They went 5-0 against the spread in those 5 straight victories.

Houston’s been winning and covering in a lot of games as well. The Rockets went 6-0 SU and 6-0 ATS in their last 6 before the 101-110 loss to Portland on Jan. 5. The Rockets are a terrific 11-6-1 ATS in home games this season.

Although Milwaukee will challenge the Rockets, Houston should pull out the win and cover as a slight home favorite.

Pick: Houston Rockets

L.A. Lakers at Utah Jazz
When: Friday, Jan. 11 at 10:00 pm ET
Where: Vivint Smart Home Arena, Salt Lake City, UT
TV: ESPN

Analysis: LeBron James won’t have recovered from his groin injury in time to play on Friday. He’s expected to be back mid-January. The Lakers have said they’ll take their time bringing LeBron back, which means Friday should be another where the King sits.

The Lakers are a mess without LeBron. In the 6 games that he’s sat, Los Angeles has gone 1-5 straight up and 2-4 against the spread.

As of January 6, Utah is both 3-1 SU and ATS in their last 4. The Jazz are only 9-7 ATS at home, though. The Lakers without LeBron should be awarded way too many points in this. Los Angeles has a chance to cover.

Pick: Los Angeles Lakers

San Antonio Spurs at Oklahoma City Thunder
When: Saturday, Jan. 12 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
TV: NBA TV

Analysis: In the first month of the season, many had already written off the Spurs. That would have been a mistake. As of Jan. 6, the Spurs are only a game behind the Houston Rockets in the Southwest Division.

San Antonio is 8-9-1 in away games. Oklahoma City should be favored by too many points in this game on Saturday unless either Paul George or Russell Westbrook doesn’t play. The Spurs have a shot at the straight-up victory.

Take the points if they’re 5 or more.

Pick: San Antonio Spurs
