Because of the standings the Wizards really do not have much of a shot of making the post season this year but the Nets are in full swing as they push to get closer to Toronto and first place in the Atlantic Division. The Wizards record is not reflective of how they play basketball, they are a sharp team that has suffered injuries to key players but they still know how to push their opponents and stay in big games.
Brooklyn will have to figure out how to slow John Wall down, their point guard Darren Williams is a great offensive player but lacks the speed of younger guards in the League and does not make the best decisions late in games. I expect to see Wall attacking the rim and really get by Williams, somewhat like Rondo did against this team a few days ago. Brooklyn has started slowing down their older veteran minutes which means that their bench will have much more importance in these wins if that’s how it plays out.
Washington yet again is out already of the post season. They have played pretty good since the all-star break as it is accustomed from them but they place themselves in such a hole beforehand that things get almost impossible late in the season. Gortat should have an explosive game in this one because the amount of minutes that KG plays will be limited so look for him to capitalize on offset screens and smaller match ups.
The Nets are -6.5 in this game and as much as I see them winning this game I do not have them covering because they lack that fire winning teams have. I see Brooklyn winning this game but Washington will give Brooklyn a run for its money.
