Nuggets Look To Press With Their New LineupTheDuck
This will be the Nets last chance to even things up against the Nuggets who dominated them in their first meeting earlier in the season. Denver won game one by 27 points and it was a complete offensive game, it was not that the Nuggets had the defense to control the Nets; it was more like Brooklyn couldn´t hit a shot to save their lives. I am sure they remember this game and will use the fact that it was on their home floor as momentum to travel to Denver and hopefully do the same to the Nuggets on their home hardwood.
The Nets have looked better as the weeks pass, they push themselves and Garnett has embarrassed his role as the team’s center once again implementing a strict defensive plan that Pierce knows all too well. The team has decided to leave all-star point guard Darren Williams as the sixth man for right now controlling his minutes to make sure he remains healthy for what’s left of the season, the team also picked up veteran center Jason Collins off free agency as well as Marcus Thornton from the Kings, two very good players that are going to give this team depth and defense.
The key to the success of this Nuggets team in my personal opinion is the playing time and freedom given to both Nate Robinson and J.J. Hickson, two players that are known for their offensive and defensive playing and who have made huge impacts on the teams they have played for. The thing is that this team is already loaded and does not have the playing time necessary to get these guy going, but if it happened, they could be the corner stone of this franchises defense.
The Nets are a slight underdog because they are on the road and that has not been their strong part this season, I have the Nuggets -4 and on their home floor I think they will get the win in a close game but the Nets will cover betting wise with a much more unified team.
