This has not only been one of the worst overall seasons for the Nuggets in years but the worst home season coming off last year’ s domination on their one hardwood. This Denver team has been blown out by 30 or more points in 4 of their last 8 games as well as taking a free fall off a cliff coming out of the all-star break. The Timberwolves are looking strong this season even if their record does not reflect that, they have had some key injuries as well as bad defensive outings but this team can score and Denver will really have to bring it in this game.
Minnesota lost the two first games to the Nuggets this season, back when Denver was playing their top basketball but in their last game back in early February the Timberwolves crushed Denver by 27 points, something they plan on repeating as the Nuggets are sinking with injuries. Kevin Love is the guy that controls the middle of the court on offense and the way he pulls out his defender to open the lanes is amazing, even if they let him shoot this guy will burn them so there no choice but to step out and that’s their high hand in this game.
The Nuggets are down to only half of their team, they have been killed this season with injuries that have taken most of their starters and key role players out of the game. Actually the only starters they have left are Faried and Chandler and we all know that defense has never been high on this team’s priority list. They have to score the ball, no matter what they have to find their range early in this game, really running the ball and taking advantage of every mismatch will be the need for this hurting Denver team.
Minnesota is -3.5 in this game on the road but I really like the Nuggets at home in this one, they will look to get the crowd behind them early and make a run to then try and control the clock and slow their play down, take the dog here.
