This is an interesting game because the Pelicans are known for being one of those teams that doesn’t play as their record reflects, they have issues against teams that they should beat and they end up surprising teams that take them lightly or should really not lose too. The Pelicans have gotten the better of a few big names this season like the Heat, Rockets and Mavericks, the Warriors understand they have to come into this game knowing it will not be easy and they must be taken seriously.
The Warriors are on top of their game right now as they have locked down their shooting offense and seem to be running the floor very well, it´s almost like they tier their opponents out with the constant pace they keep. This time the Pelicans are a much younger, faster and more experienced team that has a solid post game; Warriors forward David Lee will have his hands full with Davis under the rim. Transition points will be a command thing in this game as both teams run the hardwood.
The Pelicans really never worry about any pressure, they just show up to play and when their opponents start costing, that’s when the surprise happens. New Orleans have some decent shooters and their rebounding has improved but their 10 second defense se4ts are rusty and need work, they rotate too much on zone coverage eventually leaving a guy open and too the Warriors that is deadly with their shooting ability. I see Golden State taking this game over behind Curry´s three ball and simply overwhelming the young Pelicans in the paint, turnovers in the open floor will be the downfall of this Pelicans team in this game, something they will go back to and learn from.
