NBA Picks Dec 10-16

NBA Picks Dec 10-16

Outside of the NBA playoffs, December is the best month of basketball. I have a trio of NBA betting picks for the week of December 10th to the 16th that will make you love December NBA as much as I do.

NBA Picks Dec 10-16

Oklahoma City Thunder at New Orleans Pelicans
When: Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, LA
TV: ESPN

Analysis: The Oklahoma City Thunder should have the edge when they face the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night. OKC has maintained a 1-game lead over the Denver Nuggets in the Northwest Division heading into the week.

The Thunder average 111.1 points per. They only allow 104.4, ranking fifth in the NBA in points allowed. Opponents only shoot 44.4 percent from the field against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

New Orleans ranks second in point per game with 118. Unfortunately, the Pelicans have an awful defense. New Orleans allows opposing teams to go for 115.6 per. OKC won’t get sucked into the Pelicans’ style of play.

The Thunder take it on Dec. 12.

Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder

Toronto Raptors at Golden State Warriors
When: Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 10:30 pm ET
Where: Oracle Arena, Oakland, CA
TV: ESPN

Analysis: After OKC and New Orleans throw down, the two top teams in the NBA battle it out up in Oakland. Toronto has a 21-7 record after losing to the Milwaukee Bucks on Dec. 9. Although it remains the best record in the NBA, the Raptors are only 2.5 games ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers in the Atlantic Division.

The last time Toronto faced Golden State, they beat the Warriors 131-128 in overtime. Toronto matches up well with the Warriors. Golden State should be favored by way too many points in this game, meaning Toronto’s the play against the spread even though Golden State is the second opponent of a back-to-back.

Pick: Toronto Raptors

Oklahoma City Thunder at Denver Nuggets
When: Friday, Dec. 12 at 10:00 pm ET
Where: Pepsi Center, Denver, CO
TV: ESPN

Analysis: After battling the Pelicans on the road on Wednesday, the Thunder gets a day off before tackling the Denver Nuggets on the road on Friday. Oklahoma City must step it up against the Nuggets if they hope to leave with a win. The last time these two battled, Denver beat Oklahoma City 105-98.

The Nuggets are a much better team than many give them credit for being. Denver ranks fourth in points allowed per at 103.8. The Nuggets also score 110 per. Denver should do enough to beat Oklahoma City again unless injuries derail them.

Pick: Denver Nuggets
