The 2016 NBA playoffs are off to a spectacular start with the first games for each match up in the books. The second game in Round 1 of the 2016 NBA Playoffs takes place this week and here are my game two free betting picks to cash in on.
The first game has Charlotte battling Miami on the road. That game is on NBA Television. Then, TNT broadcasts Detroit at Cleveland and Portland at the Los Angeles Clippers. Keep reading to see my best bets for Game 2 in the NBA Playoffs!
A Closer Look My NBA Playoff First Round Game 2 Free Picks
Charlotte at Miami
When: Wednesday, April 27 at 7:10 pm ET
TV: NBA Television
Miami pummeled Charlotte 123 to 91 in Game 1. The Heat held the Hornets to 43.1% from the field. The Hornets were only good on 6 out of 17 three-point shots. The beauty of what Miami did to the Hornets is that Dwayne Wade and Joe Johnson, 2 of the Heats’ oldest players only hit the court for about 26 minutes each.
If the Heat can do that again on Wednesday night, forget about Round 1. Miami is going to find a way to get deep into the playoffs. As far as Game 2 is concerned, Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum did their parts. Jeremy Lin and Marvin Williams didn’t do their parts. Unless Lin has one of those magical scoring breakouts where he can’t be stopped, it’s hard to see the Heat losing Game 2 in this series. My NBA free pick is Miami.
Free Pick: Miami
Detroit at Cleveland
When: Wednesday, April 27 at 8:00 pm ET
Cleveland’s 106 to 101 win over Detroit in Game 1 was closer than the 11 point spread indicated it was going to be. Detroit was more efficient from the field than Cleveland. The Pistons shot 50.7% from the field to Cleveland’s 44.3%. They shot 51.7% from three to Cleveland’s 34.3%.
If Detroit’s defense comes up big on Wednesday night, the Cavs could be in some trouble. Andre Drummond dominated Tristan Thompson at the center position with 11 boards to Thompson’s 6 and 13 points to Thompson’s 2. That’s a bad matchup for Cleveland.
I think Detroit has a shot to win Game 2 versus the Cavaliers on Wednesday night. To me, this looks like a 7 game Round 1 NBA Playoff Series and my free pick is Detroit.
Free Pick: Detroit
Portland at Los Angeles Clippers
When: Wednesday, April 27 at 10:30 pm ET
The L.A. Clippers dominated Portland 115 to 95 in Round 1of the NBA Playoffs. The Clippers held Damian Lillard in check. Lillard averages 25.1 points, 4 boards and 6.8 assists per game. Versus the Clippers on Sunday, he scored 21 points and grabbed only 2 boards.
He did dish 8 assists but LAC’s size, with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, was just too much for the Trailblazers. Griffin grabbed 12 boards and scored 16 points. Jordan also grabbed 12 boards. He scored 18 points. Chris Paul added a double-double with 11 assists and 28 points. My free pick is L.A. to beat Portland.
Free Pick: Los Angeles Clippers
