The opening round of the 2015 NBA playoffs is over and the biggest surprise was the early and exciting exit of the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs at the hands of Doc Rivers’ Clippers.
How Should You Bet The Second Round Of The NBA Playoffs
Atlanta vs Washington
They struggled throughout most of their first round playoff series victory over Brooklyn. But in Game 6, Atlanta beat Brooklyn 111 to 87 on the road. The Hawks were as spectacular as one would expect the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference to be.
Washington handled Toronto easily in their first round playoff series win. The Wizards beat Toronto in 4 straight. Going back to the regular season, the Wizards are 6 and 0 ATS in their last 6 games. They’re the pick in this series.
Chicago vs Cleveland
Chicago had their ups and down in their first series of the playoffs. The Bulls needed 6 games in order to beat Milwaukee, a squad that on paper isn’t even close to Chicago.

The Bucks definitely exposed Chicago in some ways, but Cleveland’s going to be hard pressed to take advantage of those flaws. The injury bug has hit the veteran Cavaliers at the worst possible time. Kevin Love is out for the season due to a shoulder injury. J.R. Smith has been suspended for the first 2 games in this series because he elbowed an opponent in the head.
Lebron is fantastic, one of the best, but Cleveland goes into this series not 100% healthy. The Bulls are the pick to upset the Cavs in Round 2.

Golden State vs Memphis
Memphis is a heck of a basketball team. The Grizzlies’ defense was on point versus the Portland Trailblazers in the first round. The Grizz beat the Blazers in 5 games. Memphis now takes on the best offensive team in the NBA in Golden State.
The issue for Memphis is that they’re going to have a hard time dealing with Golden State’s offensive pace. The Warriors shoot close to 40% from three, which makes it very difficult for teams to get out and guard on the wings. Golden State should win this series versus the Grizzlies.
Houston vs. L.A. Clippers
It’s tough to look past Houston with James Harden playing so well. Harden was phenomenal versus the Dallas Mavericks in Round 1. With Harden on the floor, the Rockets have a shot to win every game.
But how do you go against the Clippers after they took out the defending champion San Antonio Spurs as an underdog in the first round? You can’t. Blake Griffin and Chris Paul are willing the Clippers to victory. As great as Harden is, Chris Paul is just too tough of a player and nobody can match up with Griffin. The Clippers are the pick.
