Post NBA All-Star Game Picks of the Week

With the 2018 NBA All-Star game complete following Sunday’s 148-145 Team LeBron win over Team Stephen, teams in both conferences are about to start really dialing in as we move closer toward the end of the regular season and into the playoffs.

With that said, this week’s trio of NBA picks of the week.

Post NBA All-Star Game Picks of the Week Feb 19-25

Washington (33-24) at Cleveland (34-22)
When: Thu. Feb 22, 2018 at 8:00 PM ET
Where: Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, OH

I’m just about done with believing in John Wall, Bradley Beal and the rest of the perennially underachieving Washington Wizards! Sure, the Wiz won their last two games prior to the all-star break by beating rebuilding New York and Chicago, but they also lost their two previous games against Philly and Boston. Cleveland will bring their four-game winning streak into this contest, but that’s no that’s important about the Cavs right now. No, it’s the fact that LeBron James and company have been completely transformed by the wheeling and dealing that brought them Jordan Clarkson, Rodney Hood, George Hill and Larry Nance Jr. and now looking like a lively bunch that actually wants to play together. Washington is going down in this one NBS bettors!

Pick: Cleveland 110 Washington 105

Minnesota (36-25) at Houston (44-13)
When: Fri. Feb 23, 2018 at 7:00 PM ET
Where: Toyota Center – TX, Houston, TX

Minnesota has made some really nice strides this season after adding Jimmy Butler, Jeff Teague, and Taj Gibson and they won their last game prior to the break while going 5-5 over their last 10 games overall. Unfortunately, that’s not going to be good enough to get it done against James Harden, Chris Paul and a Houston Rockets team that not only won 10 straight before the break but one that pounded the Timberwolves 126-108 in Minnesota on Feb. 13 to record their ninth straight win. Houston is too explosive offensively – and too focused on their quest to dethrone Golden State in the Western Conference to lose this contest. The Rocket will win and they’ll win by a dozen at the minimum if you ask me!

Pick: Houston 117 Minnesota 105

Oklahoma City (33-26) at Golden State (44-14)
When: Sat. Feb 24, 2018 at 5:30 PM ET
Where: ORACLE Arena, Oakland, CA

I’m looking forward to this Saturday night, nationally-televised affair, seeing as how Oklahoma City pounded the hell out of Golden State in their stunning 125-105 road win over the Dubs on Feb. 7 in a game that saw the Warriors lose their composure to the tune of five technical fouls while Russell Westbrook went off for 34, 9 and 9 and Paul George scored a game-high 38 points.

Now, because of that loss, combined with the fact that Golden State will definitely want to start playing at a higher level, I like the Dubs to get some revenge in this matchup. While the Thunder have a pair of legitimate superstars in Westbrook and George and a fading one in Carmelo Anthony, all is now well with the Midwest-based title contenders, seeing as how they’re just 4-6 over their last 10. Golden State may not have been firing on all cylinders in going 6-4 in their last 10 before the all-star break, but I’m expecting a completely different team as we move closer to the postseason. Golden State gets the home win by 10 in this one!

Pick: Golden State 121 Oklahoma City 111
