Survival Mode For ThunderThe Sportsman
If everyone was healthy I would have said that this game has the potential to be the biggest scoring game of the night, the Nuggets travel to OKC to take on the Thunder but as we all know the Thunder lost leading scorer Kevin Durant for a few months to a broken foot, this means that they team just lost on average 30 points. I expect Denver to not settle for the mid range shoot but attack the rim and look to get the Thunder’s big men in early foul trouble, this will allow them to dictate the tempo they want with shooting at post game. The Thunder will look to run the ball more with Russell at point.
Denver Nuggets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

Denver is healthy and with a new head coach in Brian Shaw as well as a rejuvenated this team, I see good things for them. The one concern I do have is their lack of focus in past years to the defense side of the ball but Shaw is known for his skills on defense so I’m excited to see his impact in that area for this team. Iguadala and Faried must be the focal points on offense; they most touch the ball to have an impact either with assists or scoring, if not this team will fall apart. I like the point and the 3-1-3 defense they have started to use.
Oklahoma City still has a great team, losing the two time scoring champion is a big blow but they have seen action without him before and they have fought through it, what they need to do is play as a team, Russell cannot try to take the team on his back and try to make every point. Defending the ball into the post and letting the big man get set will work great, pushing the ball in the open floor is also what they like so they have that as well but not try and play 100mp/h all the time.
The team that keeps their turnovers under control will the one that wins this game, both of these teams can be careless at times but I think with KD out the Thunder will play a little more reserved. I still like the Nuggets to surprise them and pick up the early season win in what will more than likely end in a shootout.
