Even though neither of these teams have any hopes of playing past next month, both are still professionally looking to finish the best they can, they are really playing hard and pushing the pace. The Wizards are looking to better their current .500 mark on their home floor while the Hawks attempt to make it to the even mark in their overall win/lose category. I expect both to play to the best of their abilities.
Atlanta will be a changed franchise next year as they prepare for one of the most difficult off season in franchise history when it comes to rebuilding. They will have to start from the ground up and this will not be an easy sell to any elite players out there in free agency. For this game I see Horford really taking control in the paint on both sides of the ball as he has gotten his blocking defense up and is still a post up monster.
Washington needs to continue to push the pace in their games, they have shown signs of being burnt out late in close games, they are missing a player that can just take over or a bench lineup that causes problems for defense because of their speed and agility. The Wizards are still without Nene and will be for the rest of the season, that means that John Wall must take this team on his back and really keep them afloat with his passing and attacking skills.
Pick: I look forward to this game because I think it’s one of the last ones at this point that will be played at full strength. I like Wizards because they are at home and they have an advantage there, the Hawks have really not played well on the road and will be missing Kover due to a hand injury.
