The Young Kevin Durant came out of Texas to the NBA after his freshman year, he led the college division one programs in scoring the year he was their but not many people thought he would translate well to the NBA, he was tall and very slim, not much muscle at all… The Thunder took a chance and boy has it paid off.. he has won the scoring title now 4 years in a row and with the Thunders last game against the Rockets where Durant made his name known yet again, as he tied the great Michael Jordan with 40 consecutive games having scored 25+ points in each one.
This kid is the real deal, he deserved the title of the king because of what he is able to accomplish with his lack of physical muscle. He is smooth on the floor, pulling up from anywhere and scoring like a sniper from just a few feet away. The Thunder have a great chance with this young man leading the way and the fans love him to say the least. With another game in which he scores 25 or more points he will have solidified himself amount the greats in the game.
He still has a ways to go if he wants the top spot, currently held by the great Wilt Chamberlain with 106 consecutive games with 25points or more but he has already made a name for himself and the more he left it fly the more people will remember. The Thunder are battling with the Spurs right now for the top seed and home court advantage, something that would really mean the difference between making the Finals and going home.
I do think that Durante will need some rest before they start their playoff bound run, because we all know that their success will rest on his shoulders and he will be expected to rise to the occasion. Something I believe he will have no problem doing.
