2017 NCAA Tournament Round 1 Parlay Picks

While everyone loves to pick the March Madness winner, the NCAA Tournament’s first round is when you can make the most money betting on parlays. Why? Because of the number of games to pick from, especially upset ATS picks. Over the past four NCAA tournaments, top seeds are only 6-10 against the spread in this round and you can use my winning NCAA Tournament Round 1 parlay picks to cash in big.

NCAA Tournament Round 1 Parlay Picks

In my first NCAA Tournament round 1 parlay pick, Notre Dame battles Princeton. Can the Irish take the momentum from their ACC Tournament Final appearance into the NCAA Tournament? On Friday, UCLA hosts Kent State. Will the Bruins go back to their high-scoring ways versus the Golden Flashes? Arizona battles North Dakota on Friday. Can the Wildcats parlay their Pac-12 Tournament Championship into a Round 1 win and cover in the NCAA Tournament?

March Madness Round 1 Two-Team Parlay Pick

  • Notre Dame -7
  • UCLA  -17

#5 Notre Dame vs #12 Princeton
When:  Thursday, March 16
Where: Key Bank Center, Buffalo, NY
Odds: Notre Dame -7

Analysis: Yes, Princeton is a 12 and Notre Dame is a 5. But this matchup should favor Notre Dame. The Irish were terrific versus Duke in the ACC Championship Game. In the semifinals, they dominated Florida State.

The thing about Notre Dame is that every player on the team can shoot the three. That makes Notre Dame incredibly difficult to defend against in a zone defense, which Princeton most likely will play. If Princeton goes man to man, Notre Dame’s players should beat Princeton’s players to the hoop. Any which way I look at it, Notre Dame covers the spread.

Pick: Notre Dame

#14 Kent State vs #3 UCLA
When:  Friday, March 17
Where: Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, CA
Odds: UCLA -17

Analysis: Poor Kent State. For winning the MAC Tournament, Kent State, who finished the season at 22 and 13, gets to play an angry UCLA Team.

The UCLA Bruins average 90 points per game. As a team, the Bruins shoot over 51% from the field. UCLA should have no trouble beating Kent State by 20 to 30 points. The Bruins are loaded with terrific players across the board.

The press loves Lonzo Ball. For good reason. He might be the best player in college basketball. But, and this is what makes UCLA scary, T.J. Leaf averages close to 17 points per game when shooting over 61% from the field.

The Bruins rock Kent State on Friday.

Pick: UCLA

March Madness Round 1 Three-Team Parlay Pick

  • Notre Dame -7
  • UCLA  -17
  • Arizona -17

#15 North Dakota vs #2 Arizona
When:  Thursday, March 16
Where: Vivint Smart Home Arena, Salt Lake City, UT
Odds: Arizona -17

Analysis: I like UCLA slightly more to punish Kent State than I do Arizona demolishing North Dakota. Don’t get me wrong. Arizona will destroy North Dakota. If I were playing a 2-team parlay, though, I’d go with Notre Dame and UCLA.

Arizona is undoubtedly the best team in the Pac 12. They easily beat UCLA in the Pac 12 Tournament before having to hang on versus Oregon. The Wildcats are loaded with talented players. They also have a great coach.

I think they dominate North Dakota in Round 1.

Pick: Arizona

March Madness Round 1 Six-Team Bonus Parlay Pick

  • Notre Dame -7
  • UCLA  -17
  • Arizona -17
  • Florida Gulf Coast +14 over Florida State
  • Xavier +2 over Maryland
  • Iona +14 over Oregon
