NCAA Basketball Picks Feb 19-25 Feat Quartet of Ranked Title Hopefuls!

If you’re ready for some college basketball picks of the week, then you should know that four nationally-ranked title hopefuls are all in action this coming week in a trio of contests that all look like they’re offering excellent value!

Let’s find out who’s on court and what’s likely to go down!

NCAA Basketball Picks Feb 19-25

Tulane (13-13) at No. 19 Wichita State (21-5)
When: Wednesday, February 21 at 6:30 PM ET
Where: Charles Koch Arena, Wichita, KS
TV: CBSSN

Analysis: After watching Wichita State beat previously fifth-ranked Cincinnati to snap the nation’s longest home-court winning streak on Saturday, I see absolutely no way the Shockers fail to dominate Tulane in this mid-week matchup. Tulane is the definition of mediocre and will enter this Wednesday night showdown having lost five straight games including their 68-63 defeat against Memphis on Saturday. Wichita State now has the look of the legitimate national championship hopeful they were expected to be before the season started and they’ll win this one going away in their first meeting against Tulane!

Pick: Wichita State 81 Tulane 65

No. 3 Villanova (24-3) at Creighton (19-8)
When: Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1:30 PM ET
Where: CenturyLink Center – Omaha, Omaha, NE
TV: FOX

Analysis: I’ve always liked the Creighton Bluejays and they’re pretty good this season as they sit at 19-8 right now. Unfortunately for them, they’re not playing their best basketball of the season, having alternated SU wins and losses over their last six games, including a narrow 90-86 home loss against Marquette on Saturday. Even worse, the Bluejays will be taking on a Villanova team that just recorded a huge victory on Saturday by man-handling No. 4 Xavier 95-79 despite having lost two of their previous three games and being on the road. The Wildcats will win this Big East battle against Creighton simply because they’re the better team at both ends of the floor and have an insane six players averaging double figures in scoring while ranking second in the nation in points per game (87.4 ppg). The Cats won by 20 they last time they visited the Bluejays and will get the win in this one by double digits.

Pick: Villanova 81 Creighton 71

No. 13 Kansas (21-6) at No. 7 Texas Tech (22-5)
When: Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 3:15 PM ET
Where: United Supermarkets Arena, Lubbock, TX
TV: ESPN

Analysis: No. 13 Kansas may have recorded an impressive 77-69 win over West Virginia on Saturday to improve to 3-1 over their last four games, but the Jayhawks are just 3-2 over their last five games and don’t look much like a legitimate national championship hopeful this season if you ask me. I know Texas Tech had their seven-game winning streak snapped in their heartbreaking 59-57 road loss against Baylor this past weekend, but that’s also one of the reasons I like the Red Raiders to bounce back in this immense home date against their Big 12 rivals. Texas Tech is as good as any team in the nation when it comes to defense as they rank a stupendous fifth in points allowed (62.5 ppg). Texas Tech also beat the hell out of Kansas 85-73 in Kansas earlier this season and that was on the road. This time around, I Like the Red Raiders to get the narrow home win to complete the regular season sweep!

Pick: Texas Tech 77 Kansas 71
