The surprising, 11th-seeded Tennessee Volunteers will look to continue advancing when they take on second-seeded Michigan in a West regional semifinal matchup that is offering March Madness college hoops betting enthusiasts a lot of value!
The two Final Four hopefuls will square off at Lucas Oil Stadium on Friday night at 7:15 PM ET .
Why Tennessee Will Win The Midwest Regional Semifinals
The Volunteers will win this contest because they’re absolutely on fire offensively, having scored at least 78 points in all three of their tourney games to date while topping 82 points in each of their last two games.
The Vols also have one of the nation’s better defenses as they allowed a scant 61.4 points per game to rank 17th in the nation while holding their opponents to just 41.0 percent shooting from the field (57th).
Tennessee also has three double-digit scorers on their roster and a true star player in Jordan McRae. The Vols are also experienced with each of their top five players being either juniors or seniors.
Could the Volunteers Go…All the Way To The Finals?
The way Tennessee has spanked Iowa , UMass and Nebraska so far, I have to say the Vols can probably beat any remaining team in the NCAA Tournament – except Florida . The Vols have lost to their SEC rivals three times this season, though game’s final score was closer than the previous meeting.
Why Michigan Can Win This Regional Midwest Semifiinals
The Wolverines will win this contest because they’re a battle-tested bunch that never gets a break in the Big Ten. The Wolverines beat the Michigan State Spartans twice during the regular season and although they lost to their in-state rivals in the conference tournament, the have looked pretty impressive in dispatching Wofford and red-hot Mercer in their two NCAA Tournament contests.
Michigan is also a bit more balanced on offense than Tennessee with three double-digit scorers that can all have big nights in any contest.
Could the Wolverines Go…All the Way To The Finals?
In one word no. The Wolverines don’t have much height or experience and either of those issues will likely cause them to be bounced out of March Madness before reaching the Final Four.
And the Sweet Sixteen Midwest Semifinals Winner Is…
Tennessee gets the upset in this contest by outscoring – and simultaneously shutting down – the fare more publicized Michigan Wolverines. This team’s confidence has got to be sky high right now and I love the offensive flow they’re in.
While Michigan has gone just 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following an ATS win, Tennessee has compiled an impressive 5-0 ATS record in their last 5 games against non-conference opponents while also going 6-1 ATS in their last seven neutral site games and a bankroll-boosting 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight NCAA Tournament games.
I like the Vols and their superior experience to win this one outright!
