I’m attacking a stacked Tuesday board with my favorite college basketball free picks. All these games involve ranked teams, and programs such as Florida and Iowa have continued to bolster immensely strong value as off-the-radar plays. Will the big name schools, like Ohio State and Kansas, be able to become more reliable assets in NCAA hoops free picks? Read on to find out.
#13 Iowa Hawkeyes -5.5 over #25 Ohio State Buckeyes (7pm EST)
The Hawkeyes continue to make waves in my college basketball betting free picks as a strangely reliable play. They’ve been a fantastic team to bet on at home, which is a trait their football program shares as well. A recent loss to Michigan State at home shouldn’t deter you from backing these Hawkeyes who are still 7-3 SU and ATS in their last 10 games.
Ohio State has bounced back after a miserable January by kick starting this month with a victory. They suffered four straight losses before snapping back in to winning form with a 62-55 win over Illinois. Unfortunately, they’ve lost to Penn State in overtime and barely edged Wisconsin 59-58 since then. The Buckeyes still have time to polish up their glaring momentum problems, but until then you have to bet against them especially against ranked teams that have great market value.
#9 Kansas Jayhawks -3.5 over BAYLOR BEARS (7pm EST)
Baylor has plummeted out of the sky after a promising start offered their backers some lofty hopes. Recently they have been a contaminated stay away play in college basketball betting free picks, going just 2-6 SU and 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games. Kansas had a lot of early problems this season, and are reeling after a 69-81 loss on the road against Texas, but should be able to take advantage of a shallow line here. The Jayhawks are 7-1 SU and 5-2-1 ATS and are slowly, but surely, turning in to the steady play that experts hoped they might be after assembling a fantastic freshman class highlighted by Andrew Wiggins. This might be the perfect time to get on board the Kansas bandwagon.
Wake Forest +17.5 over #11 DUKE BLUE DEVILS (9pm EST)
You’re staring at the largest spread of the night in terms of ranked teams. Duke has actually been a great play overall, going 5-1 SU and ATS in their last 6 games. That stretch includes a failed cover against Virginia and a two-point overtime loss against Syracuse from this past weekend. Beyond that, Duke is also 7-3 ATS when facing double-digit spreads this entire season. This includes numbers as high as -31.5.
This being said, the Blue Devils are coming off a really tough loss against the dominating Syracuse Orange and probably won’t have enough in the tank to blow Wake Forest off their home court. Wake overall is an untrustworthy play, but they’re also 0-4 SU and 4-0 ATS in their last four games against Duke. Go figure.
#4 FLORIDA GATORS -12.5 over Missouri Tigers (9pm EST)
Florida is undoubtedly one of the best teams in all of college basketball, but you rarely see any headlines about them. That’s fine by me since it reduces the spotlight on these Gators. Florida has gone 7-0 SU and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games, and have done fairly well against double-digit spreads. They have a distinct advantage by playing at home.
There’s a bit of upset potential here with Missouri and Jabari Brown (he’s the other Jabari). My issue with the Tigers is that their 8-9-2 ATS record this season is indicative of the fact that they don’t play defense. They average a very enticing 75.0 points per game, but also up 67.4 and aren’t elite on the boards either.
As the public focuses on every other team in the country, Florida will continue to post outstanding value in the sportsbook. Be wary of the matchups, because Florida is not a perfect team, but right now they’re amongst the elite and have done enough for you to have financial faith in them as an asset in my college basketball free picks.
