College Basketball Must Bet Games Jan 21-27

#6 Michigan State at #23 Iowa
When: Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Carver-Hawkeyes Arena, Iowa City, IA

Analysis: Thursday’s top matchup has two ranked teams from the Big Ten throwing down when Michigan State battles the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Spartans of Michigan State have run out to a 16-2 record.

More impressively, MSU has gone 14-4 ATS overall this season. Michigan State is an awesome 7-2 against the spread in road games this season. The last time they battled Iowa was on Dec. 3. MSU dominated, beating the Hawkeyes 90-68.

Although Iowa gets home court advantage in this, they’ll need more than that to beat the Michigan State Spartans. The Spartans take it by around 10 points.

Pick: Michigan State

Iowa State at #18 Ole Miss
When: Saturday, Jan. 26 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: The Pavilion at Ole Miss, Oxford, MS
Stream: Watch ESPN

Analysis: The most surprising team this season in college basketball might be the Ole Miss Rebels. Mississippi has a 14-3 record. The Rebels are a great 15-2 against the spread overall. In home games, Ole Miss has only failed against the spread a single time.

The Rebels battle a team in Iowa State that’s won two in a row after a couple of losses. The Cyclones finally look like they’ve got their sneakers underneath them. Iowa State is only 2-2 in road games this season.

They have gone 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games, though. That makes them the play against the spread.

Pick: Iowa State

#7 Kansas at #12 Kentucky
When: Saturday, Jan. 26 at 6:00 pm ET
Where: Rupp Arena, Lexington, KY

Analysis: It’s a classic matchup on Saturday, Jan. 26 when the Kansas Jayhawks battle the Kentucky Wildcats. Both teams are living up to expectations this season. Kansas is 15-3 while the Wildcats are 14-3.

Kentucky has gone 8-9 ATS overall. They’re only 4-6 ATS at home. That’s not a good enough ATS record because the Wildcats figure to be favored here.

Kansas has gone 1-3 in away games. Still, the Jayhawks are almost always favored while odds makers must make them dogs in this. KU gets the job done with a straight up win over the Kentucky Wildcats.

Pick: Kansas Jayhawks
