College Hoops Betting Picks – #3 Arizona Wildcats vs. Oregon State Beavers

In an completely odd twist of fate, the No.3 Arizona Wildcats have become a better take in college hoops betting picks since suffering their only two losses of the season. Prior to that, Arizona was a bit of a no-no in the book for the simple reason that the lines on their games were too big. Since the defeat against the Sun Devils, the Wildcats have gone a polished 4-0 SU and ATS and have returned to the good side.

With two games left Arizona is poised to capture the regular season title of the Pac-12, which actually isn’t that much of an accomplishment. The second ranked team in the conference, which is UCLA, isn’t anywhere to be found on any top-25 rankings. Arizona plays Oregon and Oregon State to finish out the year, and that means they should crest in to championship week and beyond with a ton of momentum as they surge in to the tournament.

As people say in sports from time to time, it’s not how you start the season, it’s how you finish and Arizona is a lock in college hoops betting picks for now. Arizona’s fifth ranked defense gives up just 58.2 points per game and their offence continues to hum like a well oiled machine. Aaron Gordon is coming off a blistering 19 point and 15 rebound performance against Stanford in a 79-66 drubbing facing a -10.5 handicap.

Oregon State hasn’t offered much in college hoops betting picks and that shouldn’t really surprise anyone. They have a nice gem of a player in Roberto Nelson, but this is a team that is just 13-11-1 ATS on the year and they’re one of the most defensively embarrassing teams in the country. Sometimes a mid-play has some value at home, but the Beavers have none at just 6-4-1 ATS when hosting. They were also smashed 54-76 the last time they played Arizona one month ago.

The Beavers won’t be the team that gets in Arizona’s way. We talked about the Wildcats as untouchable until a few weeks ago. Since then, teams like Syracuse, Wichita State, Duke and Virginia have taken the national spotlight away from them but I’m not falling asleep on them. They’re a great take in college hoops betting picks down the home stretch, and in my estimation they are one of three teams worth backing right now as a long term national champion.
