Head-coach Mike Krzyzewski, with Duke, is the leader with 1,065 wins and Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim with Syracuse is No. 2 with 1,001 wins and an asterisk — that total includes 101 wins vacated by the NCAA because the Orange violated NCAA rules from 2004-07 and 2010-12.

Why Bet The Duke Blue Devils To Beat The Orange
Duke has been rolling winning their last seven straight games. Over the weekend they battled to beat Wake Forest 99-94 at home. They are 22-5 S and 10-15-1 ATS this season. They average 81.9 points per game (23rd) and allow 68.5 points per game (84th).
The Blue Devils shoot 48.5% from the field (20th) and 38.4% from three-point land (47th). Against Wake Forest, six Blue Devils scored double-digits. They were led by a 23 point effort from sophomore guard Luke Kennard (20.0 PPG & 5.1 RPG) who went 9-15 from the field and 3-7 from beyond the arc.
"We’re trying to teach them how hard it is to win," coach Mike Krzyzewski said. "It’s easy to lose. It’s hard to win, because it’s not just about, `I want to, I’m prepared, I have a good attitude.’ You have to keep an edge."
Duke averages 36.7 rebounds (128th), 14.0 assists (143rd), and 5.85 steals per game. The Devils have a +13.41 point differential this season. Senior forward Amile Jefferson leads the team with 8.8 rebounds per game and senior guard Matt Jones is tops with 1.6 steals.
Why Bet The Syracuse Orange To Beat The Blue Devils
The Syracuse Orange will try to bounce back from three straight losses, including a 71-65 defeat to Georgia Tech during the weekend. They are 16-12 SU and 14-12-1 ATS this season. They average 76.1 points per game (113th) and allow 70.3 points per game (125th).
Syracuse shoots 45.6% from the field (111th) and 37.9% from three-point land (59th). Freshman forward Taurean Thompson (8.9 PPG & 3.4 RPG) led the team with 18 points in the loss against Georgia Tech. Their top scorer is senior guard Andrew White III (17.9 PPG & 4.8 RPG) who added 17 points and seven rebounds. The Orange scored only five points off the bench.
"We didn’t get as good a movement against their matchup as we needed to," Orange coach Jim Boeheim said. "When got some good looks, we missed. We got it inside to Tyler Lydon. He had two really good looks right around the basket. Thought he got fouled, but that’s how it goes sometimes. Can’t miss those when you’re in tough games. Can’t do that."
Syracuse averages 35.6 rebounds (196th), 16.2 assists (38th) and 8.37 steals per game. The Orange point differential is +5.2. Sophomore forward Tyler Lydon leads the team with 8.1 rebounds and White III is tops with 1.6 steals.
If You Still Can’t Decide Who To Bet On:
- Orange is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 home games.
- Orange is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
- Blue Devils are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 road games.
- Blue Devils are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games overall.
Duke Vs Syracuse ATS Pick
While Duke is winning, it’s not dominating. None of the seven wins were decided by more than 10 points, and the Blue Devils’ average margin of victory in that span is 6.4 points.
Syracuse is expecting a crowd of about 30,000. The two previous Duke-Syracuse games at the Carrier Dome sold out and set the NCAA on-campus record with crowds of 35,446.
I am betting Duke to win a close one. Syracuse should cover the spread.
