ESPN College Basketball Betting Double HeaderNoah Williams
There’s a pair of beauties on tonight in the ESPN College basketball betting double header with Florida taking on a pesky Vanderbilt side, while Indiana visits a Big Ten rival in Wisconsin. I’ve got my NCAA betting free picks lined up for this one already and I’m ready to share the wisdom. Let’s do this…
The SEC has turned in to a bit of a gambling warzone, but there’s a very tempting matchup tonight involving the new number-one in the country. The Florida Gators have vaulted ahead of Syracuse to claim top honors in the country, but the gambling community has yet to be swayed by their efforts. Florida remains a hard bet to face.
They’re undefeated at 10-0 SU in their last 10 games but have split those contests with a 5-5 ATS record. It’s been hard to make money on Florida overall, which is why I’ve stayed away from them – and this conference – in most of my NCAA betting free picks. But they’ll have slightly improved chances of covering as a road team.
Vanderbilt is not a great cover team, especially when playing at home where they’re just 5-6-2 ATS. The Commodores are also 5-4-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall. They have a staunch defense that allows just 65.2 points per game, but generally lack the size required to stop a team that’s built like these long, aggressive Gators.
This isn’t just an NCAA basketball betting free pick based on the fact that Florida is the top ranked team in the country. This is a matchup nightmare for the Commodores underneath the rim. Expect Florida to celebrate their fresh appointment to the top of the rankings with a routine demolition of another wayward SEC team. Florida won’t have much value as a grind play, but on the road they’ll have some. This is an attractive line you should attack with a bit of steam.
The Hoosiers were one of the most delightful teams to watch and study last season with Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller, but this year it’s been a bit of a washout. They’re just 15-11 SU and 12-12-1 ATS this season which is the tell-tale sign of “nothing to see here folks”. In recent games, they’re just 4-6 SU and 5-5 ATS. You can’t trust teams like this which is why I usually stay away from them in my NCAA betting free picks.
This game, however, might be a different story. The last time Indiana played Wisconsin, they earned a staggering and almost unbelievable 75-72 victory in January. Yogi Ferrell, perhaps one of the fastest players in the country, scored 25 points while dishing out 4 helpers. Ferrell has averaged 17.7 points per game this season, so it’s no anomaly for him to explode against marquee competition. In fact, Ferrell is averaging 20.0 points per game when playing against ranked opponents.
Keep in mind that Wisconsin was ranked third in the country at that time. They’ve now fallen in to the teens after a 6-4 SU and 4-6 ATS slide that’s sent their backers running for cover. Wisconsin isn’t a bad team, they’re just not complete and they don’t have the elite athletes required to make a strong push, especially in the backcourt. I don’t trust Indiana whole heartedly as a tracking team in NCAA betting free picks, but tonight I feel comfortable as they visit Wisconsin as double-digit dogs.
