College Basketball Expert Picks Dec 11-17th
All 3 games of my top college basketball betting expert picks tip-off on Saturday, Dec. 16th starting with Butler traveling to Indianapolis to battle Purdue. Can Butler beat the Boilermakers on the road?
About 3 hours later, UCLA hosts Cincinnati at Pauley Pavilion. Can Cincinnati bounce back from the wrath that is Lavar Ball?
Then my final college basketball betting play features a Wichita State squad hosting Oklahoma. Do the Sooners have any shot versus the Shockers?
College Basketball Expert Picks December 11th, 2017 – December 17th, 2017
Butler at #21 Purdue
When: Saturday, Dec. 16 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, IN
Purdue is 10 and 2 straight up. The Boilermakers are also 4 and 2 against the spread at home. The Boilermakers have already beaten 2 very good basketball teams in the Arizona Wildcats and the Louisville Cardinals.
Could Purdue make it 3 fantastic wins versus top teams before January 1? I’m not so sure. Butler has been on a mini-win streak against the spread. The Bulldogs have gone both 4 and 0 straight up and against the spread in their last 4.
I believe Butler has a great shot of upsetting Purdue on the money line in this game.
#17 Cincinnati at UCLA
When: Saturday, Dec. 16 at 3:30 pm ET
Where: Pauley Pavilion, Los Angeles, CA
The love affair between UCLA and Lavar Ball ended after only a year. Ball decided to take his son out of UCLA after the school didn’t tell Lavar when they’d allow his son to play basketball again. Not that it matters in this game versus the Cincinnati Bearcats. If anything, the Bruins should be a much tighter unit now that Lavar has zero influence on the program.
UCLA is 7 and 2 straight up. The Bruins also face a reeling Bearcats squad that has lost its last 2 games. Xavier dominated cross-town foe Cincinnati 89 to 76 on Dec. 2. On Dec. 9, Florida beat Cincinnati 66 to 60.
Oklahoma at #6 Wichita State
When: Saturday, Dec. 16 at 4:30 pm ET
Where: Charles Koch Arena, Wichita, KS
TV: ESPN 2
8 and 1 Wichita State hosts a decent Big 12 team in the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday. Wichita State is a serious college basketball team. Oklahoma is as well. However, the school is way more interested in the CFP than it is in college hoops.
Like Wichita State, Oklahoma only has a single loss on the season, though. The Sooners last game was a terrific 85 to 83 win over the USC Trojans. That game took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
If Oklahoma can force Wichita to play their style of hoops, an up and down game, the Sooners might pull off the upset. No matter what, I’m taking the points on the Sooners.
