The Florida Gators and the Vanderbilt Commodores were recent victims of the Kentucky Wildcats and have much to play for when they go head-to-head this weekend.
Florida can’t be the top seed in next week’s SEC Tournament. A win over Vanderbilt, coupled with a Kentucky loss at Texas A&M, would give the No. 12 Gators a share of the regular-season title.
Vandy is gunning for an NCAA Tournament bid.
The NCAA hoops line favors the Gators by 4-points. Tip-off is this Saturday, March 4th at 8:30 PM ET on ESPN from the Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tennessee.
Florida squeaked past Vanderbilt at home when they met on January 21st. Sophomore guard Kevaughn Allen led the 68-66 win with 29 points on the night.

Why Bet The Florida Gators To Beat The Commodores
After losing to Kentucky last weekend, Florida bounced back with a 78-65 win over Arkansas this week. They are 24-6 SU and 18-10 ATS this season. They average 79.1 points per game (57th) and give up 66.2 points per game (45th).
Florida shoots 45.3% from the field (128th) and 36.6% from three-point land (107th). In the win against the Razorbacks, senior guard Canyon Barry (12.4 PPG & 3.0 RPG) scored 14 points and added four rebounds.
"First time I felt like jumping hasn’t really hurt me," Barry said. "Starting to get my explosion back."
The Gators average 37.3 rebounds, (97th), 12.9 assists (Tied-223rd) and 7.93 steals per game. Florida has a +12.9 point differential this season. Junior center John Egbunu leads the team with 6.6 rebounds per game and senior guard Kasey Hill is tops with 1.8 steals.
Why Bet The Vanderbilt Commodores To Beat The Gators
The Vanderbilt Commodores saw a four-game winning streak come to an end with a 73-67 loss to Kentucky this week. They are 16-14 SU and 18-9-2 ATS this season. They average 71.7 points per game (Tied-220th) and allow 68.9 points per game (89th).
Vanderbilt shoots 43.7% from the field (221st) and 38.4% from three-point land (44th). Senior forward Luke Kornet (13.4 PPG & 6.2 RPG) scored 21 points and had five rebounds in the loss to Kentucky. He shot 7-13 from the field, including 3-8 from three points.
"I don’t think fatigue was an issue," said Kornet. "I think we struggled executing and creating the same spacing as well as making that extra pass that we were in the first half. Defensively, we just struggled to get stops and that was the big difference."
Vanderbilt averages 34.5 rebounds per game (241st), 13.4 (192nd) and 4.11 steals. Their point differential is a lowly +2.77. Jeff Roberson leads the team with 7.2 rebounds and 0.8 steals per game.
If You Still Can’t Decide Who To Bet On:
- Vanderbilt is 5-1 ATS in their last six meetings against Florida
- Vanderbilt is 6-3 ATS at home this season.
- Florida is 6-4 ATS on the road this season.
- Three of their last four games in this series ended UNDER the game total
Florida Vs Vandy Free Pick
Florida will be vulnerable in the paint after losing 6-foot-11, 255-pound center John Egbunu to a season-ending knee injury in the Auburn game on Feb. 14th. They don’t have a replacement.
I am betting Vandy to win and cover the 4-point spread as underdogs.
