Even with their two losses this season the Florida Gators are ranked third in the country, they have really come together has a unite beating other top ten teams weekly, they are 10-0 on conference play but this game will bring a little added attention to it because of the way Tennessee has been playing. The Volunteers have been shooting lights out recently, their defense has gotten better and they will have the advantage of playing on their home floor. The Gators have to prepare for a battle in this one, I don’t see any lead higher than 8 in this one.
Florida have been putting opposing teams away thanks to their strong half court press, they have the ability to trap of screens and play great inside man defense. For this game I think that Florida will play a little more conservative given where they are, concentrating on defense to start the game to try and limit the crowd´s involvement as much as possible to then get their shooters lined up for the second half. The Gators play best when the ball starts from the shoulder of either side of the key, from their they rotate it around till they get their opening or find the mismatch.
Tennessee hasn’t played too well in against conference teams or top ranked ones for that matter, they seem to have scoring issues late in games. This will be a chance for the Volunteers to get back at the Gators for handing them a 25 point loss, they have to learn from that past game and understand that they have to defend better and create some kind of spark that maintains the offense. Tennessee must attack the rim at all costs, pushing the ball and looking for the foul to get an edge. In the end the Gators have too much scoring power and will win this game by 25+ points and the total will pass the 165 mark.
