Bet Iona +15 Because…
All 5 of Iona’s starters scored in double-figures in their last game, an 87 to 86 overtime win versus Sienna. Jordan Washington scored 21 points, E.J. Crawford scored 12, Deyshonee Much added 18, Schadric Casimir was good for 10, and Rickey McGill scored 14. With that kind of balance, Iona can keep any game close.
Bet Oregon -15 Because…
Oregon has one of the most underrated defenses in college basketball. Oregon’s D allows only 65 points per game. They hold opponents to 40% shooting from the field and 31% shooting from three. If the Ducks have their defense going, they should beat Iona rather easily.
Iona Gaels Vs Oregon Ducks Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction
I think Oregon wins the game, but I’m not willing to give up 15 points. It has a lot to do with Chris Boucher’s injury.
The Ducks had a terrible time keeping Arizona from getting the ball into the paint in Oregon’s 83 to 80 loss to Arizona in the Pac 12 Championship. Usually, the Ducks’ interior defense wouldn’t be an issue, but without Boucher, Oregon couldn’t stop Arizona.
Iona doesn’t have an inside player the caliber of what Arizona has. But, Iona is getting 15 points. Jordan Washington, Iona’s only starting forward, has scored 15 points or more in 8 straight games.
Washington should be effective enough versus Oregon’s inside players to keep this one closer than 15 points. I like Iona ATS.
