Why Bet The Kansas Jayhawks

Kansas has won three straight and five of their last six games and comes into this matchup off a thrilling 84-80 overtime win against West Virginia on Monday despite failing to cover the spread as a 5-point home favorite. The third-ranked Jayhawks trailed by a whopping 14 points with 2:58 remaining before waging a furious comeback to take down No. 9 West Virginia in OT.

"Everybody stepped up and made big-time plays," Kansas junior guard Devonte’ Graham said. "It was just that confidence we have in each other and the coaches have in us. We just know what we’re capable of, and we believe in each other."

Senior guard Frank Mason shot a dismal 3 of 13 from the field, but drained 16 of 18 free throws as part of his game-high 24 points.

Why Bet The Baylor Bears

Baylor has lost three of their last five games and comes into this huge Big 12 battle off a humbling 84-78 loss to Texas Tech on Monday while failing to cover the spread as a 2.5-point road favorite.

Forward Terry Maston led Baylor with a team-high 22 points while guard Manu Lecomte added 16 points. Baylor forward Johnathan Motley was limited to just 11 points, well below his season average of 16.7 points.

"I think (Motley) was off," Baylor coach Scott Drew said. "He’s been so consistent this year and he wasn’t himself today. Let’s credit Texas Tech for causing that."

Kansas Jayhawks Vs Baylor Bears Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction

I love Baylor’s athleticism and 11th-ranked defense (62.2 ppg), but I just can’t bring myself to back the Bears, seeing as how they’ve been wildly inconsistent over the last couple of weeks while underachieving in losses against lesser teams like Kansas State and Texas Tech.

Kansas has won each of their last 10 meetings against Baylor, including their hard-fought 73-68 win over the Bears on February 1, despite failing to cover the spread as a 6.5-point home favorite that day.

I’m expecting Baylor to be a slight home favorite against Kansas, but it won’t matter as Kansas wins outright because of their smarter play down the stretch.

My final score prediction is Kansas 71 Baylor 69
